David Warren was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia.  This is his second year as the Director of Bands at Central-Carroll High School and fifth year teaching.  

 

Mr. Warren began his professional career as the Associate Director of Bands at Rome High School in Rome, Georgia.  His responsibilities included teaching the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band II, Class Piano, and assisting with the Marching Band. While at Rome High School, Mr. Warren’s concert and jazz bands received numerous superior ratings at state concert and jazz evaluations.  The Marching Band was also presented with various superior ratings and grand championships.  

 

In June of 2019, Mr. Warren moved to Rockford, IL to hold the position of director for the world-renowned drum and bugle corps, Phantom Regiment.  As director, Mr. Warren’s responsibilities included managing Phantom Regiment’s 12,000-mile summer tour and overseeing the corps’ 165 members, 80 staff, and 50 volunteers.  During his time at Phantom Regiment, Mr. Warren facilitated strategic initiatives that elevated Phantom Regiment back to a competition level that was previously enjoyed and expected by alumni and fans. Mr. Warren was also a marching member of Phantom Regiment for five years, including serving as principal conductor from 2014-2016.  During the 2014 season he was presented the corps’ Mark Glasscoe Member of the Year Award and Drum Corps International’s Jim Jones Leadership Award

 

Just prior to joining the team at Central-Carroll, Mr. Warren was the Assistant Director of Bands at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois.  While at Marion Catholic, he taught the Concert Band, Jazz Lab Band, and assisted with the Marching Band. 

 

Mr. Warren earned his bachelor's degree in Music Education from Berry College in Rome, Georgia where he studied trombone with Dr. Casey Thomas and conducting with Dr. Lauren Denney Wright.  He also holds a master’s degree in music education from the University of Georgia. His professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, the Georgia Music Educators Association, Kappa Delta Pi, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

 

Mr. Warren resides in Carrollton with his wife, Allison, and their two dogs, Macie and Mollie.
