MSgt Steven Peters

Master Sergeant Steven E. Peters serves as the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) at Central High School, Carrollton, Georgia.  He is responsible for teaching Aviation History, Science of Flight, Exploring Space, and Physical Training.  He and Lieutenant Colonel Washington lead over 90 Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) Cadets in a progressive leadership program that included extracurricular activities such as Academic Bowl Team, CyberPatriot Team, Drill Teams, Color Guards, and the Kitty Hawk Air Society.  Prior to joining the Carroll County AFJROTC Unit GA-20062, MSgt Peters was born in Big Stone Gap, VA and enlisted in the Air Force in 1995.  He has over 18 years in the Aerospace Ground Equipment career field where his background includes a variety of positions in the aerospace maintenance field with significant experience in maintenance management and training.  He broadened his skill sets as a construction manager for the F-35 program.  He designed the remodel of legacy aircraft facilities to house the newest 5th Generation stealth fighter, budgeting over $300 million in military construction funding.  MSgt Peters was also selected as an Antiterrorism Officer for an Air Combat Command Fighter Wing, responsible for the safety and security of $2 billion in assets including 72 F-16/F-35A fighter aircraft and 5,000 personnel.  Additionally, he performed duties as a Military Training Instructor (MTI) assigned to Air Force Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.  As a MTI, he oversaw the training of nearly 100,000 recruits ensuring 117 Air Force career fields received thoroughly trained and combat ready Airmen.  MSgt Peters retired from the Air Force on 1 November 2019 with over 24 years of honorable and faithful service.
