About Me
I have a Bachelors in English Literature from Baylor University. I then earned my Master's in Secondary Education in Spanish at the State University of West Georgia. My Specialist is in Teaching and Learning a Second Language from Georgia State University.
Over the years I have traveled to quite a few Spanish-speaking countries. I first learned Castilian Spanish in Salamanca, Spain. I then did a Fulbright Teacher Exchange in San José, Costa Rica. I have returned to Spain four more times. I completed a Rotary exchange in Chiapas, Mexico, and then I returned to study in Cuernavaca twice as well as study in Oaxaca. With Auburn University, I was part of a Fulbright exchange to Perú, and I last traveled to Quito, Ecuador thanks to an Alice Huffard Richards grant for educators. With Central students, I have had the opportunity to return to Costa Rica and Peru.

Things you need for class

For students, here are a few supplies you will need with you daily for Spanish class:

  • A 3-ring binder with plenty of paper
  • Something to write with

Additional supplies we use often are:

  • Kleenex
  • Expo markers
  • Index cards (3X5)

If you are able to donate any of the additional supplies, I am always appreciative.

I was born and raised in Carrollton. For twenty years I taught in the Carrollton City Schools, and I taught Spanish for five great years at Heard County High School. This is my sixth year to be a Lion! I love the community found here at Central. In my spare time you can find me working out and teaching group fitness at Club Fitness gym here in town.
