Meet Abbey Mason

Bio: 

I’m so excited to begin my sixth year teaching and third year as yearbook sponsor at Central High School and am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this community of teachers and students. I also have the privilege of helping with FCA, planning the homecoming dance, and serving as the assistant Literary Coordinator. My passion for building relationships with students as well as my love for language and books is what led me to pursue a career in teaching. I believe literature is so important for the formation of students to gain new perspectives that will shape the individuals they are becoming. I don’t take lightly the privilege it is to guide and influence students towards both personal and academic growth and success!

Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family and friends- whether in nature or over a cup of coffee. I value playing a part in the community around me and love to help serve others however I can. 

I received my BA in English from the University of West Georgia in Fall 2020, and earned my MA in Teaching from UWG in Fall 2023. I recently earned my Gifted Certificate as well!
