JROTC Instructors Considered "Best in the Blue"

(Monday, June 13, 2022, Carrollton, Georgia). Carroll County Schools Junior Air Force ROTC instructors, Lt Col Mike Washington and MSgt Steven Peters have been recognized by the Department of the Air Force, Air Education and Training Command as 2022 Overall AFJROTC Outstanding Instructors of the Year. This is the first time the honor has been awarded to Carroll County Schools instructors.

The Department of the Air Force considers Washington and Peters the “Best of the Blue” and through this award, their exemplary contributions and impact on their cadets, school, and community is announced with deepest appreciation. These men represent the highest examples of the Air Force Core Values which are crucial to the success of the AFJROTC mission.

The mission is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. The objectives of the Carroll County Air Force JROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character and self-discipline, and to provide instruction in air and space fundamentals. The program is grounded in the Air Force core values of "Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do."
