Central High School
PRIDE PROGRAM

The Central High School Pride Program is designed to motivate students to perform better in the areas of academics, attendance, and behavior. The purpose of the programs is to recognize students who are achieving in these areas with tangible incentives, rewards, and recognition. This program is part of Central High School's total commitment to excellence for all students. The nine components of the Pride Program are:

1. Positive Post Card Program - Central High School teachers use positive post cards to notify parents and students of outstanding achievements in and out of the classroom. These cards are a way for teachers to express some of the positive things happening at our school.

2. Student of the Month Recognition Program - Each month teachers nominate students to be recognized for outstanding achievements at Central High School. The students have their picture made to go on our wall of honor, for the newspaper, receive a certificate, a commitment to excellence T-shirt, and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

3. Attendance Recognition Program - Each student who maintains perfect attendance is presented with a perfect attendance certificate at the annual Extra Mile Assembly. Any student who has perfect attendance at Central High School for four years, according to school records, will receive a plaque in recognition of this honor.

4. Honor Roll Assembly Program - At the end of each grading period, Central High School recognizes its honor roll students with an assembly in their honor. They receive refreshments, listen to speakers, and receive door prizes donated by local merchants.

5. 1000 Point Club - The Central High School 1000 Point Club recognizes those seniors who have scored 1000 or better on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). These students receive a certificate and have their name placed on the plaque that hangs on one of our walls of honor.
