A MESSAGE from the Principal:
Mr. Shawn Tobin
Parents and Students,
It is my privilege and honor to serve as the Principal of Central High School. If you are a ninth grader or a new student to our school, we welcome you into the Lion’s Den! You will quickly recognize that Central High School is steeped in pride and excellence. We encourage all students to get involved with extracurricular activities so they will receive a paramount high school experience. Teachers and support staff work diligently to ensure your child feels welcomed, loved, and receives a premier education. We are conscious that a premier education is enhanced when a four-way partnership among parents, students, community and the school is present. We enthusiastically welcome parental involvement and communication.
As principal of Central I have three primary goals: (1) For students to be passionate in regards to our school culture, with a primary concentration upon academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities; (2) For parents and the community to feel at home at Central High and ready to assist with both academics and extracurricular activities; and (3) To continue to maintain an orderly, safe, and disciplined environment. With communication and respect, these goals will be achieved through a trusting relationship between the schoolhouse and home.
This school year will be an extraordinary time as our new three-story building will be operational. This building will house our award winning “Marching Pride” band, the developing JROTC program, the agriculture program, an assortment of academic classes and our ninth grade academy. Additionally, our outstanding chorus program will make use of our former band room. Furthermore, our athletes and academic students will take advantage of our new multi-purpose building. We look forward to a memorable and eventful year and will do everything within our power to enable your child to be successful.
Sincerely,
Mr. Shawn Patrick Tobin
