Coach David McKenna became part of the Central Lion family in 2013. He serves as the Central Lion Head Softball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach. The softball team won the 2016 State Championship tournament; finished 2nd in the state in 2013, 3rd in the state in 2014, and 4th in the state in 2015. In addition, the softball team has won two (2) region tournament championships since 2013. 

Coach McKenna was named Georgia Dugout Club Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2013 and he was named the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2013. Coach McKenna played Division 1 baseball for the University of North Carolina ~ Wilmington, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. 

David teaches Physical Education, Advanced Weight Training, Health, Physical Fitness, Principles of Athletic Training and Team Sports for Central High School. He is married to Lindsey and they have two children, Brady and Carly.
