Education:

I received a Master's of Education in Professional Counseling and Supervision from the University of West Georgia in 2011. Prior to obtaining this degree, I obtained a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2007. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. 

Experience:

In addition to my experience as a School Counselor, I have worked as a therapist within community mental health. I have also worked at the university-level in student services for online programs. I enjoy working with adolescents and children; I also enjoy employing expressive and play therapy techniques within my counseling practice.

Support

Provide individual, group and guidance support to all students, within a solution-focused, creative, and collaborative context, to support academic, career, and social development.

Communication

Ensure open and appropriate communication with all students, parents, and staff, while facilitating an environment of safety and respect for all members of the school community.

Multiculturalism & Diversity:

Gain knowledge & perspectives of the entire school population and school community and employ vast resources in order to meet the needs of a diverse school community.


School Counselor's Commitment:

I am committed to supporting the academic, career, and social growth of students within an educational setting. My duties lie in identifying students in need of external supports, assisting students in attaining academic success, career readiness, as well as facilitating school-wide counseling programs meeting diverse student needs.
