The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class. Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways.


Today’s first shout out goes to Jacob Nelson for being selected by his church as Outstanding Youth of the Year. Jacob will be recognized in Atlanta in a reception and ceremony in the coming month. Congratulations Jacob!

Our second shout out goes to the girls tennis teams! Varsity girls smashed Villa Rica 5-0. Bringing home the win for the single girls were #1 Elle Jones, #2 Anna Carnes, #3 Emily Jones. Doubles winners were #1 Avery McGinnis and Anna Cheatwood, #2 doubles Kira Babbs and Natalie Wilson. The JV girls also played Villa Rica. The girls tied 2-2. JV winners were #1 doubles Laney Duffey and Addison Denney, #3 doubles Keiaritie Thomas and Jully Roh.


Best Buddies will meet in the Media Center next Wednesday, February 5, at 7:45 a.m. We will be discussing Special Olympics and Valentine’s Day. Plan to attend.

If you are interested in trying out for competition cheerleading, please see Coach Perryman for information. Tryouts will be February 11, 12, and 13. 

The Closet of Kindness is collecting donated prom dresses that will be available for FREE for Central students attending prom. The Closet of Kindness will be open Friday, February 7, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the TLC on the 400 hall. Drop off donations in the guidance office.

Central High School’s FFA will be presented with a proclamation for National FFA Week on February 4 at the Carroll County Board of Commissioners meeting. All members are welcomed to attend wearing either the chapter shirt or FFA jacket. The commissioner’s meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse. In order to attend, you must arrive no later than 5:40 p.m. to be escorted by FFA officers to the meeting room.   


All Key Club members need to get Golden K Pancake tickets from Ms. Bowen this week. This is a required activity for every member. 


Senior Fees: $175 until February 14. CASH ONLY. See Linda Morris in the Media Center. 

Junior Prom Dues: $150 until February 13. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Yearbook Sales: $90; see Ms. Monica Smith. 


Basketball plays at home this weekend. Come out and support our Central Lions!
