The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class. Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways.

Teachers -- Only students with red March of Dimes stickers, visible on their hat, may wear a hat today. No sticker, no hat.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s big shout out goes to the Rocket League Roaring Lions. After a hard fought match yesterday, the Rocket League Roaring Lions lost their playoff match against Atlanta 3-2. They finished in the top 32 in the state and are looking forward to another big showing in the upcoming spring season. Congratulations to you guys for making a statement as the first Esports team for Central High School.

Students: Do you know what your strengths are? If you’re not sure, take a free aptitude test to find out! Email Ms. Zerr or stop by the guidance office to sign up and take the ASVAB test. Scores will help determine what skills you have and where your strengths are! Email Ms. Zerr at rhea.zerrshepard@carrollcountyschools.com. Today is the final day to sign up, so don’t miss out on this free opportunity!

The Interact Club will meet on Wednesday, January 15 at 7:45 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. in Mrs. Knowles's room 719. All members should plan to attend one of the meetings.

Don't miss your chance to be part of the spring musical! Sign up for an audition time outside the chorus room. Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday after school.

If you are interested in playing Rocket League for Central High School in the spring, plan to attend a short interest meeting after school next Friday, January 17 at 4:00 p.m. Please plan to be there if you want to join in on the growing esports scene.

Men’s Soccer Tryouts are Monday, January 13 at 3:45 p.m. You must have a current physical to try out. Any questions, see Coach Townson.

If you are interested in trying out for competition and football cheerleading, plan to attend the parent meeting on January 14 in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is mandatory for anyone wanting to try out. 

DUES & DEADLINES

Senior Fees: $175 until February 14. CASH ONLY. See Linda Morris in the Media Center. 

Junior Prom Dues: $150 until February 13. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Yearbook Sales: $90; see Ms. Monica Smith. 

AFTER SCHOOL

Tonight, the Carroll County High School Honor Chorus performs a free concert at the PAC at 6:00 p.m. and the Lions are in action in the Walker gym against Chapel Hill. Student tickets are $2.00, make plans to support our basketball teams and chorus!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, happiness is found in helping others! How will you make someone’s day today?
