Announcements for Wednesday, January 8, 2020

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways.


The Central High School Roaring Lions are currently in the playoffs in Rocket League. The team lead by Dakota Lankford, Angel Velasquez, and T.J. Rookard will be playing their first round this Thursday at 4:00. Wish them luck if you see them.

If you are interested in playing Rocket League for Central High School in the spring, plan to attend a short interest meeting after school on Friday, January 17 at 4:00 p.m. Please plan to be there if you want to join in on the growing esports scene.

Students, this Friday is March of Dimes Hat Day. Hat Day stickers are on sale with Ms. Foley in the main office and will be sold during lunch today and tomorrow for $1. Buy your ticket, support healthy babies, and wear your hat with your paid sticker on Friday!

Men’s Soccer Tryouts are Monday, January 13 at 3:45 p.m. You must have a current physical to try out. Any questions, see Coach Townson.

Tennis will begin today, January 8 after school. Please update your physical if it expires soon.  If you are not sure about your physical, see Lorie Startup. Tennis team will be announced the week of January 20 with matches beginning January 28.

If you are interested in trying out for competition and football cheerleading, plan to attend the parent meeting on January 14 in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is mandatory for anyone wanting to try out. 


Auditions for the spring musical, Once Upon a Mattress, will be held the week of January 13. Sign-up for an audition outside the chorus room.

Students: 10th-12th grade can sign-up to take the ASVAB in the Guidance Office through January 10. There is no cost to take the ASVAB and the test will be given January 16 at Central High School. Please see Ms. Zerr with questions. 


Senior Fees: $175 until February 14. CASH ONLY. See Linda Morris in the Media Center. 

Junior Prom Dues: $150 until February 13. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Yearbook Sales: $90; see Ms. Monica Smith. 


JV girls basketball plays tonight at 5:00 p.m. at home. Make plans to come out and support our Lady Lions!

Carroll County High School Honor Chorus performs a free concert Friday at the PAC at 6:00 p.m.
