Announcements for Thursday, November 14, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways.

Teachers: We have advisement today. The senior advisement schedule is listed in the announcement Previous Post section. 


Today’s big shout out goes to the  new Art Club officers: President Sanya Rivera, Vice President Eli Johnson, and Secretary Sam Whritenour. Art Club meets on Wednesday after school in room 400; see Ms. Thompson for details.

Our second shout out goes to Chloe Spruill for placing 4th in the Area 1 Employability Skills Competition this past Tuesday. She submitted a resume, cover letter, and completed an interview with a panel of judges. Congratulations to Gil Galvan, Ethan Lee, Brodie Montalto, and Justin Rivers for their success in the Agricultural Sales Competition. The team researched mechanical lawn and farm equipment. The team gave a sales pitch to customers who were looking for quality products.



Seniors, at the end of advisement, you will have the opportunity to vote for Senior Superlatives. If you are not on campus during advisement, the link will be shared with you via Remind. If you have not yet joined the senior Remind, please text 3acg6f to 81010. 

Literary solo and monologue results are posted outside of the chorus room. All participants should stop by to see Ms. Phillips in the chorus room for more information.

Students interested in taking the SAT or ACT should consider joining the new Test Prep group! There will be an informational meeting TOMORROW MORNING at 7:45 a.m. in the Media Center. Students are not required to attend future meetings to be a part of the group! 

Students interested in participating in Industry Tours with Ms. Lewis, stop by the guidance office for a permission slip. Permission slips are due no later than Friday, November 15. This is a great opportunity to see what type of jobs might be available for YOU in Carroll County!

Attention Central High School females: If you would like to join Women in Ag Mechanics, plan to attend the meeting TODAY. Additionally, if anyone is interested in finding a way to combine an interest in agriculture and art, please stop by Ms. Thompson’s or Ms. Williford’s classrooms and join the Remind before Thanksgiving break! 


Advisement is today! Seniors will be divided into three groups to hear guest speakers.

Junior Prom Dues: $125 until December 19. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Yearbook Ads: On sale through November 22. See Ms. Monica Smith for details.

Yearbook Sales: $90; see Ms. Monica Smith. 


Basketball has a scrimmage tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Lion Valley against Paulding County High School. Come out and support our Lions!

Competition Cheerleaders head to Columbus TODAY. Join our Cheerios for a Lion Family send-off outside the cafeteria at 5:00 p.m. and wish them good luck!

Wrestling is home with matches all day Saturday in the Walker gym. Come out and support our fabulous Lions!! Pin ‘em guys!
