Announcements for Thursday, October 17, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s big shout out goes to the Lions Cross Country Teams for bringing home 1st place trophies in both boys and girls at yesterday's Eagles invitational. The girls were led by Maci Williams finishing in 2nd place, followed by Anna Ayers, Zoe Smith, Abby Cook, Sinclaire Denney, Payton Bryan, and Cadie Kilgore who swept 4th through 9th. The guys were led by Jay Yoder finishing 2nd, Logan Huff finished 5th, and Blaise Bergiel placed 10th. Thanks for another fabulous team effort!

NEW NEWS

Attention students! If you had perfect attendance and/or all A's for the 1st 9 weeks, you are invited to attend the Army Rock Band concert on Thursday, October 15 during 7th period in the Walker Gym. Please check the list posted outside the cafeteria to see if you are invited to attend. If your name is on the list, you may report to the Walker Gym immediately after 6th period on Thursday to enjoy your free concert.

Calling all Math Team members and Math Team wannabees! If you are a returning Central High School Math Team member or if you would like to join this year, plan to attend the organizational meeting on Thursday,  October 24 in Mr. Murphy's room 734 at 7:50 a.m. or 3:35 p.m. Remember, Mr. Murphy wants YOU to be a part of the Central High School Math Team! Come to one of the meetings and check it out!

Basketball  tryouts begin on October 21. If you plan to tryout, be sure you have a current physical on file. See Coach Edwards with questions.

Yearbook Sales: $80; see Ms. Monica Smith. Buy by October 31 and have your name entered into a raffle for free stuff!

AFTER SCHOOL

JV Football plays at Callaway tonight. The Lions are at Chapel Hill tomorrow; make the short drive and support our football team!
