Announcements for Monday, September 30, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways. 

Seniors: Friday, October 4 is the final day to pay senior fees of $125; fees increase on Monday, October 7 to $150.

Juniors: Thursday, October 3 is the final day to pay  junior prom dues of $100. Junior dues increase Friday, October 4 to $150! You have one week to get pay the best price of the school year!

Iced coffee is now on sale in the Main Office. See Ms. Foley and get yours today!


Our first big shout out goes to the Marching Pride for an award-winning competition Saturday at the Armuchee Invitational in Rome. The Pride earned all Superior Ratings and First in Open Class Honors in all areas, including Drum Major, Color Guard, Percussion and Band. The Marching Pride also earned the Overall Grand Championship of the Competition with a final score of 96 out of a possible 100. Congratulations to the Marching Pride on this wonderful accomplishment. Go Pride Go!

Our second big shout out goes to the Central High Competition Cheerleaders on their 1st Place win at The Carrollton Classic on Saturday!! This is the team’s second win of the season! Way to go ladies!!! 

Our third shout out goes to the Central Lions Football Team and their coaches for bringing home a win over LaGrange. The final score was 17-14! The Lions are home this Friday against the Cartersville Hurricanes, go Lions!


The Buddy Club will host a meeting in the Media Center on Thursday, October 17 at 7:50 a.m. in the Media Center. Mark your calendar and plan to attend!

Attention FBLA members: If you missed this mornings FBLA meeting, plan to attend the meeting after school in room 607. 

Students interested in joining the Central High School Chess Club should plan to attend one of tomorrow’s meetings in the Media Center. Meetings are scheduled at 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. See Tanner Archibald or Sachal Denney with questions. Permission forms are available in the Media Center.

Students, if you are interested in playing Rocket League competitively for Central High School, come by and see Mr. Sauls in room 410 to sign-up for tryouts. Tryouts will be held tomorrow after school.


Dual enrollment information sessions will be held October 10 and November 14 at the University of West Georgia. Use the attached links to register.

Picture retakes for underclassmen are Friday, October 4. Softball plays tomorrow in Lions Valley for the Region Championship! Come out and support our Central Lions!
