Announcements for Friday, September 13, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways. 

Attention Seniors: Grad Bash money is due no later than September 25. If we don’t have enough paid participants, we will be unable to attend. See Ms. Martin to pay your Grad Bash fees ASAP!

Monday is the FINAL due date for all parade materials such as driver’s license and insurance copies to Ms. Martin. Monday is also the final date to have your dress approved by Ms. Duncan. Late submissions will not be accepted. 

SHOUT OUT

Today’s super big shout out goes to the Lady Lions Softball Team for getting another big region win beating Chapel Hill 4-2. It was a great team win for the Lions. Great job ladies!

NEW NEWS

Get ready for a great Homecoming week starting Monday with the dress-up theme Past vs. Future. Tuesday is Mathlete vs. Athlete. Dress-up and show your school spirit!!

The University of West Georgia is very excited to announce the official dates for the Carrollton Campus - Dual Enrollment Information Sessions for prospective students, spring applicants, and their families! 

The events will include a campus tour with an official UWG Tour Guide and an informational presentation by Ashley Arnold, our dual enrollment coordinator! They will be providing new UWG SWAG ITEMS, as well as brochures detailing our program. The events are located on the Carrollton Campus in the Murphy Building (310 W. Georgia Drive, Carrollton, GA 30118). If you are interested in attending, please register for one of the sessions by clicking on the link below for the date that works best for you.

October 10, 2019 from 1:00PM - 3:00PM

November 14, 2019 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM 

Accelerating 11th grade students are encouraged to sign-up to take the PSAT October 16 to receive college scholarships and to help prepare for the SAT. The cost to take the PSAT is $17.00. Please bring cash or check to Mrs. Dixon in the Guidance Office when you sign-up. The deadline to sign-up is Friday, September 27. Please see Ms. Zerr in room 708 if you think you are eligible for a fee waiver. There are only 20 spots available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until October 3. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Yearbook Ads: On sale through November 22. See Ms. Monica Smith for details.

Yearbook Sales: $80; see Ms. Monica Smith.

AFTER SCHOOL

Noah Hicks is in concert tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. in the football stadium. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to the basketball program. Come out and support our Central Lions!

The Carroll County Band Exhibition will take place next Tuesday, September 24 in Lion Valley. Come out for an enjoyable evening of music from all five county high schools as well as the city schools and the University of West Georgia. Admission is $8.00. Passes will not be accepted for this event.
