The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways. 

Attention Seniors: Grad Bash money is due no later than September 25. If we don’t have enough paid participants, we will be unable to attend. See Ms. Martin to pay your Grad Bash fees ASAP!

Homecoming Court and Sweetheart biographies are due to Ms. Duncan TODAY! 


Today’s super huge shout out goes to the Lady Lion Softball Team for bringing home another big region win! The Lions won 7-3! Mary Beth Griffin hit a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. Great job ladies!


If you missed this morning’s Key Club meeting, make plans to stay after school and meet in Ms. Bowen’s room, 732. 

Attention Seniors: You have been assigned to smaller groups for advisement based on the information gathered at the last advisement session. Please see where to report for tomorrow's advisement on the sheets outside the cafeteria or in the 3-story atrium.

Accelerating 11th grade students are encouraged to sign-up to take the PSAT October 16 to receive college scholarships and to help prepare for the SAT. The cost to take the PSAT is $17.00. Please bring cash or check to Mrs. Dixon in the Guidance Office when you sign-up. The deadline to sign-up is Friday, September 27. Please see Ms. Zerr in room 708 if you think you are eligible for a fee waiver. There are only 20 spots available on a first-come first-serve basis. 

The first Women in Ag Mechanics meeting is this Wednesday, September 11 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Females interested in learning more about woodworking, wiring, and welding, are encouraged to attend the meeting in Ms. Williford's room 517.

There will be an ISDS meeting this Thursday in room 626. You can come to the 7:45 or the 3:45 meeting, but you need to make plans to attend as we will discuss a global community service opportunity to help hurricane victims in the Bahamas.


Friday the 13th has always been a scary day, but this September is even worse! It's the last day you can buy your yearbooks for $70! Prices will increase to $80 on the 14th of September. Order yours today! You can see a yearbook staffer, Mrs. Monica Smith, or you can order online at

Forms are available for basketball cheerleading tryouts from Ms. Jordan in room 403. Tryouts are the week of September 23 so get your paperwork completed and turned in as soon as possible. 

If you would like to join Art Club, please visit Ms. Thompson in room 400 for a form and more information. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday after school from 3:45-4:45 starting on September 18. Dues are $25 and must be paid by September 13.

Volleyball senior night is TONIGHT. ALL students get in FREE! Come out and help recognize our fabulous seniors! The theme is VSCO girls.

The Carroll County Band Exhibition will take place next Tuesday, September 24 in Lion Valley. Come out for an enjoyable evening of music from all five county high schools as well as the city schools and the University of West Georgia. Admission is $8.00. Passes will not be accepted for this event.
