Announcements for Friday, August 30, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, have students toss all food and drinks from outside vendors, spit out gum and remove all head gear. Put cell phones away as you enter class.

Students may NOT wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways. Phones will be taken up if students wear earbuds or headphones in the hallways. 

Attention Seniors: Grad Bash money is due no later than September 25. If we don’t have enough paid participants, we will be unable to attend. See Ms. Martin to pay your Grad Bash fees ASAP!


Today’s super big shout out goes to the Lady Lions Softball Team for smashing Sandy Creek last night 13-1! It was a great team effort for the lions. Great job ladies.

Our second big shout out goes to the following students of the month. Please send the following students to the Media Center at this time. Jack Albright, Abbey Cole, Jesus Campuzano, Everett Fitts, Stacy Rakestraw, Jackson Gordon, Jasmine Dunlap, Audrey Stallings, Wendell Perry, Julia Claire Wilkins, Courtney Collins, Kevin Hill, Michael Brandon Harris, Laney Duffey, Sanya Rivera, Kaitlyn Tucker, and Bryant Brown.


The Central High Drama Club will meet this Wednesday, September 4 for its inaugural meeting in room 625, Mrs. Thornton's room.  Students interested in being part of the Lion Pride Theater Group should attend the meeting. For your convenience, there are two meeting times:  7:20 am and 4:00 - 5:00 pm. Students should arrange their own transportation to and from meetings. 

Anyone interested in joining the Bass Team needs to come by my room 624 before school or after school today.

It's not too late to join the Central High School Best Buddy Club. If you missed the meeting please stop by and see Mrs. Hanson in room 310 for details about the commitment and the fun involved! 

If you would like to join Art Club, please visit Ms. Thompson in room 400 for a form and more information. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday after school from 3:45-4:45 starting on September 18. Dues are $25 and must be paid by September 13. 

Beginning September 3, anyone interested in trying out for basketball cheerleading may stop by room 403 to pick up required paperwork from Ms. Jordan. You MUST have a current physical and paperwork turned in BEFORE you will be allowed to participate in tryouts. Tryouts will be held the week of September 23.


All students should join the appropriate Google Classroom for your grade level to see important information from the Guidance Counselor.  The codes for each Google Classroom are:

Seniors: Grad Bash is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of your senior year! Grad Bash takes place April 3-4 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. See Colby Sales or Ms. Martin for details, to pay and secure your spot now!!


Senior Fees: $125 until October 4. See Linda Morris in the Media Center. 

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until October 3. See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Prom Dues: $70 until February 13 (Only if student did not attend as a junior). See Mrs. Perryman, Ms. Duncan or Ms. Abby Smith.

Senior Yearbook Ads: On sale through November 22. See Ms. Monica Smith for details.

Final Senior Picture Date: September 25. See Ms. Monica Smith for details.


The Lions Football Team plays at Rockmart tonight. The student section theme is silver or gray out tonight!! Make the drive and support our fabulous Lions.
