Central High School

Announcements for Monday, May 6, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss all food from outside vendors, ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. You know the drill, let’s get it done.

Seniors, it’s time to take care of all debts owed to Central High School organizations. Please check Infinite Campus TODAY to see if you owe money to a group or the cafeteria.

Students may no longer charge breakfast or lunch.  Alternative lunch option will be provided to students who do not have exact money.

Today’s big shout out goes to years’ amazing Art 3 and Art 4 Seniors! The Senior Show is wonderful and something to be proud of. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday's reception. If you missed it, you missed a wonderful opportunity to speak with the exhibiting artist. The good news is you can still their amazing accomplishments in the front atrium and front hallway.

Our second big shout out goes to the following students who qualified for the State Track Meet in Albany. Mary Beth Griffin finished 3rd in pole vault, Sau’Avery McClure finished 6th in triple jump, Sidney Stone finished 7th in pole vault, and Dylan Carroll finished 8th in 300 meter hurdles.

Central High School’s Chorus will host their spring concert this Thursday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center and is free! Help us close out the school year with music!

Students interested in trying out to play softball need to see Coach David McKenna for paperwork and information.

Attendance Appeals are now available in the guidance office.  Any student having more than 7 absences in a class period must complete an attendance appeal for credit.  All appeals are due no later than Friday, May 10. Appeals received after these dates will not be considered.

Members of the class of 2020 (that's you, juniors) need to sign up for senior portraits. There is a link on the school website for you to sign up. See Mrs. Smith if you have any questions.

Attention students: Yearbook day is almost here! Students who purchased a copy of the 2019 Leonine can pick up their books this Thursday, May 9, during lunch or between classes. Books will be distributed in room 604, the yearbook computer lab. See Mrs. Smith if you have any questions.

Volleyball tryouts begin TOMORROW after school and continue throughout the week.

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
