Central High School

Announcements for Tuesday, April 30, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss all food from outside vendors, ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. You know the drill, let’s get it done.

Seniors, it’s time to take care of all debts owed to Central High School organizations. Please check Infinite Campus TODAY to see if you owe money to a group or the cafeteria.

Students may no longer charge breakfast or lunch.  Alternative lunch option will be provided to students who do not have exact money.

Today’s big shout out goes to the Best Buddy Club member who volunteered and worked Joy Prom! Thank you for helping and for always being there for students! You helped make the night a true success!

Our second shout out goes to the cast of Annie: The Musical, for hard work and dedication to theater. Ms. Phillips is very proud of the extra time and effort put into making the musical an outstanding Lion tradition.

Our final shout out goes to Haley Fehring and Logan Velez. Haley signed her letter of intent with Southern Union State Community College to play basketball and Logan signed to play baseball with South Georgia State College. Congratulations!

Attention students: Yearbook day is almost here! Students who purchased a copy of the 2019 Leonine can pick up their books on Thursday, May 9, during lunch or between classes. Books will be distributed in room 604, the yearbook computer lab. See Mrs. Smith if you have any questions.

Attention students, if you are interested in playing football, you must have all paperwork turned in to Coach Smiley before Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. You must have a current physical on file to participate in spring practice. If you do not take care of your paperwork and physical before Wednesday's practice, you will not be allowed to go through spring practice and will have to wait until the summer workouts. See Coach Smiley with any questions.

The Central High School Agricultural Mechanics classes are making cutting boards as their final projects this semester. If you would like to come check out what we have 'in stock' or have a custom board made, please let me know by May 3. Cutting boards (12"x 15" x 3/4" average) range from $40-$60 depending lumber type and customization. We also have coaster sets for $20 (4 coasters). All are hand made hardwood cutting boards and benefit the students!

Students, if you are interested in supporting our basketball teams by becoming a team manager, please see Coach Edwards as soon as possible. Basketball needs help with filming practice and games! Stop by and see Coach Edwards in room 406 or the Walker Gym.

Attention Best Buddy Club members - Remember that you all are invited to be recognized at The "Yes I Can" Awards banquet on May 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Carroll County School Performing Arts Center.  Please arrive at 5:45 p.m. so our club can find seats together. It should be a wonderful evening recognizing all of our special friends!!! See Mrs. Hanson if you need more details.

Junior Marshal permission slips are due NOW!

Golf is in region competition in LaGrange and Central High School Bands will be performing their final concert of the school year tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Performing Arts Center.
