The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss all food from outside vendors, ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. You know the drill, let’s get it done.

The Class of 2019 will have a formal class picture taken on the football field next Wednesday, April 24 in cap and gown. Seniors will be called from class for the 9:00 a.m. photo lineup. You are not excused from first period and will be counted absent if you miss class.


Today’s super big shout out goes to Jeffrey Shellnut for being chosen as this week’s Show Some Love tee shirt recipient. Jeffrey was nominated because he consistently holds the door for special needs students and their teachers between classes. Numerous teachers came forward to nominate Jeffrey for this random act of kindness! Thank you Jeffrey! Please stop by the Media Center for your free tee shirt and a picture.


Attention Junior Marshals: Permission slips for participation in graduation need to be turned in as soon as possible to Linda Morris in the Media Center.

Attention NHS members: There will be an important meeting in Mrs. Fountain's room on Wednesday, April 17, at 8:00 a.m. Please make plans to attend!

2019-2020 Student Council Members who signed up to work 9th Grade Parent Orientation, please plan to be here tonight by 5:00 o'clock. Check in with Ms. Zerr and Ms. Williams upon arrival.

2019-2020 Student Council Members have a meeting on Wednesday, April 17 in the Media Center at 7:30 a.m., please be on time.

Key Club will meet this Wednesday at 3:45 p.m., there will be no morning meeting this week, so make plans to attend in room 732.

Students interested in playing Volleyball next year are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 17 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The senior class picture, in cap and gown, will be taken Wednesday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. on the football field.


Students in the 9-11 grade, if you are interested in being a member of the largest extra curricular organization at Central High School, performing at all football games and competitions, taking trips all over the country, you should audition for the Central High School Band Color Guard. For more information, please scan the QR Code located on posters around campus or see Mr. Ruby in the band room. Auditions begin April 22 and the registration deadline is this Friday, April 19. Go Pride!!

Attention Seniors: If you are interested in beginning a full-time career, plan to attend the Carroll County Schools Senior Career Employment Day on April 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Email Ms. Bass at in order to submit a resume and completing job applications.

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals Thursday. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".


Soccer will be hosting a Pink Out on tonight as a Team Riggins fundraiser. This is also senior night, so make plans to attend and support our Lion family!
