The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss all food from outside vendors, ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. You know the drill, let’s get it done.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s big shout out goes to the Central High School Math Team for their solid performance yesterday at the Southern Union Math Tournament. The Algebra 1 Team of Destin Smith, Heather Eidson, Tara Freeman, and Jonathan Weinman placed third in the large school division and Naomi Norbraten was the top scorer overall in the Pre-Cal division. Great job gals and guys!

Our second big shout out goes to the Boys and Girls Tennis Teams for bringing home 3rd place in Region play. Both teams are heading to State with the boys taking on Oconee County and the girls will play St. Pius. Great job Tennis!!

NEW NEWS

Super huge shout out to the English department for hosting the March Poetry Madness! Your March Poetry Madness winner, with 75% of the votes, is "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost! Thanks to students who voted! Your English teachers had a blast discussing poetry with you!

Students interested in playing Volleyball next year should plan to attend one of the two upcoming informational meetings. Meetings are scheduled for Monday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 17 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Students in the 9-11 grade, if you are interested in being a member of the largest extra curricular organization at Central High School, performing at all football games and competitions, taking trips all over the country, you should audition for the Central High School Band Color Guard. For more information, please scan the QR Code located on posters around campus or see Mr. Ruby in the band room. Auditions begin April 22 and the registration deadline is April 19. Go Pride!!

Soccer will be hosting a Pink Out on Tuesday, April 16 as a Team Riggins fundraiser. This is also senior night, so make plans to attend and support our Lion family!

Seniors, caps and gowns for graduation will be delivered Monday, April 15 in the cafeteria during lunch. If you have not yet paid senior fees of $150, please stop by and see Linda Morris in the Media Center.

The senior class picture, in cap and gown, will be taken Wednesday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. on the football field.

Attention Seniors: If you are interested in beginning a full-time career, plan to attend the Carroll County Schools Senior Career Employment Day on April 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Email Ms. Bass at kelly.bass@carrollcountyschools.com in order to submit a resume and completing job applications.

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals next Thursday, April 18. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".

AFTER SCHOOL

Varsity Soccer plays at home against Adairsville and Varsity Baseball travels to LaGrange.
