The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss all food from outside vendors, ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. You know the drill, let’s get it done.


Today’s big shout out goes to the Lady Lions Golf Team! The team took 2nd place at the West Georgia Classic yesterday with Senior Ainsley Cowart scoring 5 under with a 66 taking 1st place. Way to go Ainsley!


Students in the 9-11 grade, if you are interested in being a member of the largest extra curricular organization at Central High School, performing at all football games and competitions, taking trips all over the country, you should audition for the Central High School Band Color Guard. For more information, please scan the QR Code located on posters around campus or see Mr. Ruby in the band room. Auditions begin April 22 and the registration deadline is April 19. Go Pride!!

The results from the last two Elite 8 matchups are in! “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” won the British bracket, and “Ah, Are You Digging On My Grave” is the winner of the Wild Card bracket. Today is the Final Four!

Soccer will be hosting a Pink Out on Tuesday, April 16 as a Team Riggins fundraiser. This is also senior night, so make plans to attend and support our Lion family!

There will be a meeting for Junior Marshals tomorrow morning at 7:45 a.m. in the Media Center. Information about graduation will be distributed and discussed. If you are unable to attend, please see Linda Morris.

Seniors, caps and gowns for graduation will be delivered Monday, April 15 in the cafeteria during lunch. If you have not yet paid senior fees of $150, it’s time to take care of this. See Linda Morris in the Media Center.

The senior class picture, in cap and gown, will be taken Wednesday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. on the football field.


Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals next Thursday, April 18. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".

Anyone interested in coming out for spring football or playing football for the 2019 season, there will be a spring football parent meeting held on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Attendance at this meeting is strongly encouraged. Please see Coach Smiley if you have any questions.


Gymnastics has a meet at Lovett High school, varsity baseball plays at home against LaGrange, and tennis continues region tournament at Cartersville.

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
