Central High School

Announcements for Monday, April 8, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.

Today’s big shout out goes to Central High School Concert and Symphonic Bands for both earning all Superior Ratings in all possible captions at the 2019 GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluations. Central was the only high school in Carroll County to receive all Superior Ratings with both bands and the Central Cluster was the only cluster in the County to receive all Superior Ratings with the middle school and high school bands. Congratulations to both bands on this wonderful accomplishment. Go Pride Go!

Soccer will be hosting a Pink Out on Friday, April 12 as a Team Riggins fundraiser. This is also senior night, so make plans to attend and support our Lion family!

Seniors, caps and gowns for graduation will be delivered April 15 in the cafeteria during lunch. If you have not yet paid senior fees of $150, it’s time to take care of this. See Linda Morris in the Media Center.

The senior class picture, in cap and gown, will be taken Wednesday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. on the football field.

Best Buddies will meet in the Media Center on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:50 a.m. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend!

The last game of the Sweet Sixteen poetry bracket was yesterday. Billy Collins' "Introduction to Poetry" staved off "Sonnet 130" with a mere 6 votes!  We will begin the Elite 8 games when we return from spring break.

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals next Thursday April 18. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".

Anyone interested in coming out for spring football or playing football for the 2019 season, there will be a spring football parent meeting held on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Attendance at this meeting is strongly encouraged. Please see Coach Smiley if you have any questions.

Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Baseball plays at home tonight, come out and support our team!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
