The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.

SHOUT OUT

Our first shout out goes to Girls Soccer for beating Fayette County 2-1. Goals were scored by Jenna Lillie and Jordan Stewart. Madeline Potts and Summer Ligon had the assists. Great job ladies!!

Yesterday, the Boys and Girls Tennis Teams splits against Callaway

The wins came from Lauren Buchanan, Kira Babbs, Dalila Sanchez, Natalie Wilson, Caleb Williams

The Boys & Girls Tennis Team will play Tuesday  April 9th at Cartersville. Boys will play Cedartown & Girls play Chapel Hill

NEW NEWS

Soccer will be hosting a Pink Out on Friday, April 12 as a Team Riggins fundraiser. This is also senior night, so make plans to attend and support our Lion family!

Best Buddies will meet in the Media Center on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:50 a.m. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend!

The last game of the Sweet Sixteen poetry bracket was yesterday. Billy Collins' "Introduction to Poetry" staved off "Sonnet 130" with a mere 6 votes!  We will begin the Elite 8 games when we return from spring break.

This is your last day to purchase a yearbook for the 2018-2019 school year! See Ms. Smith in the yearbook room to order yours today!!

Talent show performers should plan to attend a sound check in the New Gym during 5th period on Friday. See Ms. Phillips if you have any questions. Talent show tickets are on sale during lunch for $2. You must have a ticket to leave class and attend the show! There will be NO tickets sold at the door!

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals on Thursday April 18. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".

Anyone interested in coming out for spring football or playing football for the 2019 season, there will be a spring football parent meeting held on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Attendance at this meeting is strongly encouraged. Please see Coach Smiley if you have any questions.

DUES & FEES

Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith. Last day to order is March 29!

AFTER SCHOOL

JV baseball is home against Chapel Hill and varsity baseball travels to Chapel Hill.

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
