The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.


Yesterday's March Poetry Madness competition was almost as close as the Duke vs. UCF game! The winner of the poetry faceoff was "A Poison Tree" with 55% of the votes. Today we read two final poems from the British bracket before moving to the Wild Card section! Be sure to vote!!

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals on Thursday April 18. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year, you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley for physical paperwork starting Wednesday. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals on our student athletes. This form "MUST" be signed by parents as well as the other forms. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for "FREE".

Anyone interested in coming out for spring football or playing football for the 2019 season, there will be a spring football parent meeting held on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Attendance at this meeting is strongly encouraged. Please see Coach Smiley if you have any questions.

Tickets for the talent show will be sold for $2 during lunches this week. You must have your ticket to get into the talent show on Friday, March 29, during 6th and 7th periods. Come out to support your fellow Lions performing in the show!

The Central FFA will host their semester road cleanup tomorrow from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. Any interested should meet at the front atrium after 7th period. Wear good walking shoes and Help is Keep Carroll Beautiful!

Attention Juniors in Spanish 2 and Spanish 3: If you are interested in earning an International Skills Diploma Seal, come to our first ISDS meeting TODAY in room 626. You can come to the 7:45 or 3:45 session, whichever is best for you.

Attention Teachers: For $10 you can wear blue jeans Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, with all proceeds supporting Special Olympics. You may pay your $10 to Ms. Duffey or Ms. DeFriese today!


Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith. Last day to order is March 29!


Special Olympics is on our campus today, HOPE meets after school in the Media Center, and cheer tryouts continue in the gym at 4:00 p.m.

JROTC is hosting Spirit Night at Jefferson's from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. tonight. Come out for a good meal and support our Cadets!
