The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.


Our first shout out goes to the Boys Golf Team for finishing 2nd in the Troup Co Par 3 shootout. Low score was sophomore Tyler Cook. Thomas Moore, Aaron Leodler, and Blake Eason rounded out the team score. Great job men!

Our second shout out goes to the Boys and Girls Tennis Teams for smashing Bowdon on Senior Night!! Wins for the girls came from Elle Jones, Anna Carnes, Anna Cheatwood, Kira Babbs, Courtney Vance, and senior Dalila Sanchez. Wins for the boys came from Caleb Williams, Garner Duffey, Dalton Lewis, Sachal Denney, Lance Crawford, and senior and senior Drew Smith.


Any senior that needs assistance with their FAFSA application can come to the Media Center Computer Lab on Friday, March 22 during 5th period only. Mr. Ben Meadows will be here to assist you. Parents are encouraged to come and should sign in through the Front Office.

March Poetry Madness continues, with 75% of the vote, Robert Frost's poem "Fire and Ice" wins round 2! Later, "Fire and Ice" will face off with "Still I Rise." Tomorrow, we move to the World region part of the bracket. Cast your vote before 4:00 today!


The Central FFA will host their semester road cleanup on Wednesday, March 27, from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. Any interested should meet at the front atrium after 7th period. Wear good walking shoes and Help is Keep Carroll Beautiful!

Attention Juniors in Spanish 2 and Spanish 3: If you are interested in earning an International Skills Diploma Seal, come to our first ISDS meeting next Tuesday, March 26 in room 626. You can come to the 7:45 or 3:45 session, whichever is best for you.

Attention Class of 2020: Senior portraits will be taken this summer on June 10 and 11 in the front lobby of the school. You will receive scheduling information after Spring Break. What we need from you is an email address so that you can receive reminders about senior portraits. There are QR codes outside English teachers' doors on the 600 and 700 halls. There is also a link on the Central Yearbook Facebook page. Please submit your name and email address this week. Thank you!

If you are interested in trying out for football/competition cheerleading for the 2019-2020 season, all paperwork needs to be turned in to Mrs. Jordan in room 403 by TOMORROW. Remember you must have an up-to-date physical to participate in tryouts.

The final list of performers for the talent show is posted outside the chorus room. See Ms. Phillips if you have any questions. The talent show will be held on March 29 during 6th and 7th periods. You can buy tickets for $2 in advance.

Attention Teachers: For $10 you can wear blue jeans Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, with all proceeds supporting Special Olympics. You may pay your $10 to Ms. Duffey or Ms. DeFriese today!


Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith. Last day to order is March 29!


Honors & Awards Night reminder: Awards night is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., TONIGHT at Roopville Road Baptist Church. Students who are unable to attend may pick up awards in the Media Center on Monday, March 25.

Golf travels to Oak Mountain and gymnastics travels to Dunwoody High tonight.
