The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.

Attention Coaches: If you use Hudl, you need to see Ms. Good ASAP this morning.


Today’s big shout out goes to the following three (3) students who have been caught doing a random act of kindness. Patrick Mickel takes the initiative to help a fellow student 7th period. Gavin Youngblood goes out of his way to ask how his peers and teachers are doing each day. And last, but not least, Heidi Anderson has been the driving force behind the Best Buddies Club. Congratulations and thank you for taking time to Show Some Love. Please stop by the Media Center for your free tee shirt and a picture.

Our second big shout out goes to Boys and Girls Tennis Teams for defeating Troup County. Wins for the girls came from Elle Jones, Anna Carnes, Lauren Buchanan, Anna Cheatwood, Natalie Wilson,  Maddie Arrington and Maddie Arrington. Wins for the boys came from Drew Smith, Luke Reid, Caleb Williams, Blaise Bergiel, Garner Duffey, Dalton Lewis and Mason Harden.


March Poetry Madness began with a bang! Taking top honors with 68% of the votes in round 1 is, “Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. Over 450 votes poured in for this poem! Round 2 in the American bracket takes place today! Make sure your vote is heard!

The Central FFA will host their semester road cleanup on Wednesday, March 27, from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. Any interested should meet at the front atrium after 7th period. Wear good walking shoes and Help is Keep Carroll Beautiful!

Attention Juniors in Spanish 2 and Spanish 3: If you are interested in earning an International Skills Diploma Seal, come to our first ISDS meeting next Tuesday, March 26 in room 626. You can come to the 7:45 or 3:45 session, whichever is best for you.

Attention Key Club Members: If you missed this morning’s meeting, please plan to stay after school for the meeting in Ms. Bowen’s room, 732.

Attention Class of 2020: Senior portraits will be taken this summer on June 10 and 11 in the front lobby of the school. You will receive scheduling information after Spring Break. What we need from you is an email address so that you can receive reminders about senior portraits. There are QR codes outside English teachers' doors on the 600 and 700 halls. There is also a link on the Central Yearbook Facebook page. Please submit your name and email address this week. Thank you!


If you are interested in trying out for football/competition cheerleading for the 2019-2020 season, all paperwork needs to be turned in to Mrs. Jordan in room 403 by TOMORROW. Remember you must have an up-to-date physical to participate in tryouts.

The final list of performers for the talent show is posted outside the chorus room. See Ms. Phillips if you have any questions. The talent show will be held on March 29 during 6th and 7th periods. You can buy tickets for $2 in advance.

Attention Teachers: For $10 you can wear blue jeans Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, with all proceeds supporting Special Olympics. You may pay your $10 to Ms. Duffey or Ms. DeFriese today!


Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith. Last day to order is March 29!


Honors & Awards Night reminder: Awards night is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., tomorrow, March 21, at Roopville Road Baptist Church. Students who are invited, but are unable to attend, may pick up awards in the Media Center on Monday, March 25.

Come out to the tennis courts today to honor our Seniors at 4:00 p.m. We will be recognizing Drew Smith and Dalila Sanchez. Then stay at the court to cheer tennis on to victory against Bowdon at 4:30!

Boys Golf travels to Troup County, Varsity Baseball travels to Troup County, Varsity Soccer is home against Sandy Creek, and the Wrestling Banquet will take place at the Performing Arts Center at 6:00 p.m. It’s a busy day in Lion Valley!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
