Announcements for Monday, March 18, 2019


The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.

Students in Mr. Ruby’s 2nd period, report to Mr. Biddle in room 636; 3rd period report to Mr. Murphy in room 734; and 5th period report to the Media Center.


Today’s super big shout out goes to Brant Entrekin, Kayla Batchelor, Alli Walls, Ashley Rauschenbach, and Bles Denney for representing Central at State Literary Competition! Because of their efforts, Central High School placed in the categories of Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and Women’s Trio. Great job!

Our second big shout out goes to the Girls Tennis Team for taking 5th in the Granger Invitation with superb efforts from Elle Jones, Anna Carnes, Lauren Buchanan, Anna Cheatwood, Natalie Wilson, Maggie Francom, Maddie Arrington, Kiley Godbee, and Kirsten Dietrich. Central girls defeated East Coweta. The Central boys had wins over North Hall and Christian Heritage before a close defeat from Buford. Boys came in 4th with efforts from Drew Smith, Luke Reid, Caleb Williams, Blaise Bergiel, Garner Duffey, Dalton Lewis, Lance Crawford, Mason Harden, and Sachal Denney.

Our third shout out goes to Ainsley Cowart and Nate Handley for being selected as the Central High School DAR representatives. Ainsley was the 3rd place finisher receiving a certificate and cash award. Nate received the History award.


Attention Class of 2020: Senior portraits will be taken this summer on June 10 and 11 in the front lobby of the school. You will receive scheduling information after Spring Break. What we need from you is an email address so that you can receive reminders about senior portraits. There are QR codes outside English teachers' doors on the 600 and 700 halls. There is also a link on the Central Yearbook Facebook page. Please submit your name and email address this week. Thank you!

Prom participants: If you need to pick up an invitation, you can do so 4th - 7th periods today and tomorrow outside Room 633. Seniors, line up for senior walk will begin at 6:00 prom night. You must be in line by 6:15 in order to participate.

If you are interested in trying out for football/competition cheerleading for the 2019-2020 season, all paperwork needs to be turned in to Mrs. Jordan in room 403 by Thursday, March 21. Remember you must have an up-to-date physical to participate in tryouts.

The final list of performers for the talent show is posted outside the chorus room. See Ms. Phillips if you have any questions. The talent show will be held on March 29 during 6th and 7th periods. You can buy tickets for $2 in advance.

Attention Teachers: For $10 you can wear blue jeans Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, with all proceeds supporting Special Olympics. You may pay your $10 to Ms. Duffey or Ms. DeFriese today!

Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Junior Prom Dues: $180, Cash Only. see Ms. Trumble or Wooten.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith. Last day to order is March 29!


Soccer is home tonight and varsity baseball, stay after school and support our Central Lions!!
