Central High School

Announcements for Wednesday, January 30, 2019

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.

Our first shout out goes to the members of the Men's 200 yard freestyle relay for qualifying for the State Swim meet on February 7 at Georgia Tech. Max Farmer, Bryce Matthis, Bennett Little, Blaise Bergiel along with Donavon Whitworth will be the first relay to represent Central in school history. Karlie Benefield also set a new school record in the 200 yard IM. Many other personal records were set in the final meet of the year. The Lions are peaking at the right time. Best of luck to these swimmers as they represent Central High School at State!

Our second big shout out goes to the following students for being selected as semi-finalists for the Governor's Honors Program.  Congratulations to Kenji Trumble and Naomi Norbratten. They will prepare for a state interview moving them one step closer to attending the summer program.

Balfour will be delivering ordered items in the cafeteria Thursday, January 31 during all lunch periods.

The deadline to register for AP Exams is February 13. Visit the school website under Guidance, find a QR code posted around school or visit the Guidance Google Classroom for the link to register.

Any student interested in Dual Enrollment should attend our county-wide Dual Enrollment Information Session on Monday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Representatives from the University of West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College will be present to answer questions and provide information.

The 2018 Football Banquet has been rescheduled for February 25, with the location to be announced at a later date.

The Blood Drive has been rescheduled for March 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. To give blood, please see Ms. Startup in the nurse's office.
