The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.


Today’s super big shout out goes to the winners in the 2019 Miss Leonine Pageant. Bles Denney was named Miss Congeniality; Clarisa Slater won People's Choice; Ivy Altman was chosen as Most Photogenic; SauAvery McClure was the 2nd Runner Up; Claire Allen was our 1st Runner Up, and Ivy Altman was crowned 2019 Miss Leonine. Way to go, ladies!

Our second shout out goes to the Central High School FBLA chapter for winning the Region Championship for the 7th time in the last eight years. The following students will be moving on to compete at the state level:

Patrick Jennings in Banking & Financial Systems and Economics

Olivia Hall in Business Calculations

Kayla Batchelor in Business Communications

Brooke Shearer in Computer Applications

Brant Entrekin in Economics

Sara Jennings in Intro to Business Communications

Naomi Norbraten and Elizabeth Haney in Intro to Financial Math

Christian Putman in Intro to Information Technology

Destiny Smith in Personal Finance

In addition, the following students placed first in their competition and will be moving on to state:

Aiden Williams in Intro to Information Technology

Kayla Batchelor in Intro to Public Speaking

And the team of Heidi Anderson, Samuel Eidson, and Drew Smith in Business Ethics

As well as the team of Olivia Hall, Sandy Wilson, and Emma Yarborough in Emerging Business Issues.

Mrs. Hall and Dr. Vick would like to thank all students who tested and competed to help bring home the region trophy!


FCA is back for the New Year. Join us on Friday at 7:45 a.m. in the wrestling room for a time of fellowship and devotion. You don’t want to miss it!

The Central High School Ag Department is taking orders for mild, medium, or hot varieties of sausage at $5.00 per pound. To place your order contact Nikhol Dysart at

Key Club will have a meetings tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Bowen’s room 732. Please plan to attend one of the meetings.

The 2018 Football Banquet will be held on January 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Coach Smiley is asking all players to wear either a shirt and tie combo or collar shirt and khaki pants for this event. There will be a meal catered, free of charge for the players. If your parents wish to eat, the cost is $10 each. All money will need to be turned in to Coach Smiley by January 22. If you have any questions please see Coach Smiley in the fieldhouse.

Students, do you enjoy making a difference in your community?  What about having a positive impact globally? If so, you might be a perfect fit for our new club, "The Interact Club".  Come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 16 in room 210 at 7:45 a.m. If you can’t make it to the meeting, please see Mrs. Knowles for details.
