The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones. Blankets are not to be used in school. Please leave blankets at home.


Attention Teachers: We are still experiencing issues with the Internet. Please report issues to Linda Morris.

The 2018 Football Banquet will be held on January 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Coach Smiley is asking all players to wear either a shirt and tie combo or collar shirt and khaki pants for this event. There will be a meal catered, free of charge for the players. If your parents wish to eat, the cost is $10 each. All money will need to be turned in to Coach Smiley by January 22. If you have any questions please see Coach Smiley in the fieldhouse.

Students, do you enjoy making a difference in your community?  What about having a positive impact globally? If so, you might be a perfect fit for our new club, "The Interact Club".  Come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 16 in room 210 at 7:45 a.m. If you can’t make it to the meeting, please see Mrs. Knowles for details.

All Miss Leonine Pageant participants need to meet today after school in the chorus room.

Come support our students at the Miss Leonine Pageant on Saturday, January 12! The pageant starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are only $5 at the door.


Girls Soccer tryouts will be Monday, January 14 at 3:45 p.m. Anyone interested in trying out please see Coach Hart in room 404.

The Parent University meeting scheduled for January 15 has been moved to January 14 due to scheduling conflicts. Ninth grade parent should plan to attend the meeting which will focus on course registration for the 2019-2020 school year.

Boys interested in playing soccer need to sign-up with Coach Townson in room 726. Tryouts begin January 14 and physicals must be current at that time.

Students, did your parents attend Central High School? If so, go to the yearbook page on the school website and let us know their name and when they graduated. We’d love to feature you in the yearbook!


Senior Fees are $150, cash only. See Ms. Morris in the Media Center.

Junior Prom Dues: $150, see Ms. Trumble or Wooten.

Yearbook: $90; January 18 final day for name stamps. See Ms. Monica Smith.


Basketball plays at Chapel Hill this Friday, Miss Leonine is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sadie Hawkins Dance is at 7:00 p.m. It’s a great weekend to be a Central Lion!!!
