The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s big shout out goes to the Central High School Swim Team. The team finished 3rd out of five teams. The Lions outscored New Manchester and Bremen. First place finishers were the Men's Medley Relay, Max Farmer and Karlie Benefield. Second place swims were turned in by Max Farmer, Karlie Benefield, Bryce Mathis, and Isabella Herring. The swim team will be back in the water tomorrow at Lake Shore pool in Carrollton at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free, so show some love and support our teams!

Our second shout out goes to the Central High School Basketball Program for continuing to serve the best concession menu on the planet. Tonight’s home-style menu includes mashed potatoes with gravy or cheese. Traditional menu items are dogs, burgers, and nachos with cheese! Saturday’s home-style menu is chili with crackers! Yum yum!!

NEW NEWS

The Sadie Hawkins dance will be held Saturday, January 12 from 7:00- 10:00 p.m. at "The Barn" Venue (same location as last year). The theme this year is New Year~New You. Class officers and Student Council members will be selling tickets starting Monday, December 3 through December 7 during lunch. Tickets are $20.00 and you can pay cash or with a check. If you are bringing an outside guest, they are required to fill out a form, complete with signatures. These forms can be picked up when you purchase your ticket or from Mrs. DeFriese in Student Services. All outside guest forms must be returned by December 18 for your outside guest to attend.

Balfour will be on campus next Thursday, December 6 to distribute purchased items. If you have question regarding rings, jackets, or senior graduation announcements, be sure to stop by the table they will have set-up in the cafeteria!

The ASVAB will be offered for free at Central High School on January 16. Sign-up with Ms. Dixon in the Guidance Office. There are only 15 spaces available.

Students interested in playing Tennis this spring, please sign-up outside Lorie Startup's office.

If you are interested in playing golf, stop by and see Mr. Riggins in room  146.

Students interested in participating in the Miss Leonine pageant should plan to attend an interest meeting on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the chorus room.

It's not too late to join the school musical cast as part of the chorus! Don't miss your chance to be part of Annie. See Ms. Phillips in the chorus room for details.

DUES & FEES

Senior Fees: $125 until December 14; see Ms. Morris in the Media Center. Dues increase to $150, cash only on December 15, and students will not receive an alumni tee when paying after December 15.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. Dues increase to $150 after Christmas break! See Ms. Trumble or Wooten.

Yearbook: $90. See Ms. Monica Smith.

AFTER SCHOOL

Basketball begins tonight with JV boys at 4:30 p.m. The Screaming Eagle Wrestling Tournament begins today at Mt. Zion, and both basketball and wrestling are in action Saturday. Show some love and cheer our Lions on to victory!!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
