The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

Attention Students and Teachers: Cars left on campus after midnight tonight will be towed! Be sure to move your car!

SHOUT OUT

Today’s first shout out goes to the Lady Lions Volleyball Team. The Ladies brought home two big wins on senior night by defeating Haralson County 2-0 and Alexander 2-0. Volleyball is now 22-7-2 heading into the region tournament Tuesday. Coach Smith would like to give a special shout-out to the student section for showing up in force!

Our second big shout out goes to the Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams for placing second in the Carroll County Championship yesterday. The guys were led by Brenden Slater and Nick Potts who placed 8th and 10th and the girls were led by Madeline Potts who placed 7th overall. Great job lions!

Our final shout out goes to the Central Lion students. Central High School won the Carroll County Schools September Attendance Award with an attendance rating of 96.4%!!

NEW NEWS

Central High School Chorus students will be hosting their Fall Concert on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. Admission is free, so come and bring a friend!

If you are interested in trying-out for basketball cheerleading, stop by and pick up the required paperwork from Ms. Jordan in room 403. Paperwork must be completed, with parent signatures, and returned to Ms. Jordan no later than Wednesday, October 10. Basketball cheerleading tryouts are scheduled for October 16, 17, and 18.

It’s not too late to volunteer for the Super Bowl of Sound this weekend. See Mr. Ruby in the band room for details!

Central High School is supporting the Open Door Children’s Home located in Rome, Georgia. Students are collecting shoe boxes of Halloween socks, arts and crafts, candies, and school supplies. Your donation for the shoe boxes can be dropped in the Media Center. Student, Hannah Warren, is heading up this donation drive with Colby Watson, Destiny Smith, Rebekah Cochran, and Madison Lathery.

Math Team members: Tee shirt money is due no later than Monday, October 8 to Mr. Murphy in room 734.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is currently being observed across the country. American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America can be explored by visiting our Media Center. Students in Dr. Ingram’s classes have created bio-information pages on well-known Hispanic-American people that will be on display until October 15.

Senior Fees: $125 until December 15; see Ms. Duffey in the main office.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. See Mr. Trumble, Wooten, or Perryman.

Yearbook: $80 until October 31.  See Ms. Monica Smith.

HOMECOMING DATES & DEADLINES

NEXT Thursday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. there is a mandatory Homecoming Court practice on the home side of football stadium.

AFTER SCHOOL

The Lions take on the Cedartown Bulldogs tonight in Cedartown. Follow the bus and cheer our Lions on to victory!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
