The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.


Today’s big shout out goes to the Central High School Marching Pride on an Award winning weekend at the Oconee Marching Classic in Milledgeville, Georgia. The Marching Pride competed against 15 high school marching bands, earning all Superior Ratings and First in Class Honors in every possible category. The band also earned the Overall Caption Championships in Guard, Percussion, Music, Visual, and General Effect. The evening concluded with the Central Marching Pride earning the overall Grand Championship with a final score of 95.9!  Congratulations to the Marching Pride on this outstanding accomplishment! Go Pride Go!!!


Next week is Homecoming Week! Get your dress up day gear ready! Monday, October 8 is Meme Monday and our Community Pep Rally with activities and Sweetheart recognition will take place in Lion Valley beginning at 7:00 p.m.

FFA will be meeting after school Wednesday in the Ag room, bring a friend and learn about upcoming events!

Central High School is supporting the Open Door Children’s Home located in Rome, Georgia. Students are collecting shoe boxes of Halloween socks, arts and crafts, candies, and school supplies. Your donation for the shoe boxes can be dropped in the Media Center. Student, Hannah Warren, is heading up this donation drive with Colby Watson, Destiny Smith, Rebekah Cochran, and Madison Lathery,


Math Team members: Tee shirt money is due no later than October 8 to Mr. Murphy in room 734.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is currently being observed across the country. American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America can be explored by visiting our Media Center. Students in Dr. Ingram’s classes have created bio-information pages on well-known Hispanic-American people that will be on display until October 15.

Representatives from UWG will be on campus Tuesday, October 2 to meet with students about spring semester courses. Please stop by the guidance office to pick up an appointment time.

Attention Students: If you would like to earn points toward club honors, please sign-up to volunteer with our Marching Pride Band for the 36th Annual Super Bowl of Sound. The band needs volunteers throughout the day on Saturday, October 6. The busiest time is between 7:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Please see Mr. Ruby in the band room for more details.

Announcing SAT Prep Classes! Monday at 3:30 p.m. Math in room 405 and Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Verbal in room 633.


Senior Fees: $125 until December 15; see Ms. Duffey in the main office.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. See Mr. Trumble, Wooten, or Perryman.

Yearbook: $80 until October 31.  See Ms. Monica Smith.


The deadline to submit Sweetheart and Homecoming Court dresses for approval (front and back photos) is Wednesday, October 3. Submissions should be emailed to Ms. Eidson at

Thursday, October 4, during 3rd period, there is a mandatory Sweetheart practice from 10:15-11:12 a.m. on the home side of the football stadium.

Thursday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. there is a mandatory Homecoming Court practice on the home side of football stadium.


Tomorrow is our Blood Drive in the cafeteria. It’s not too late to sign-up and give the gift of life! See Ms. Startup in the nurses office.
