The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

Teachers: Please check yesterday’s email from Dr. Simpson regarding the ACCUPLACER test being given in the Media Center computer lab. Send the students from that list at this time. Thank you.

Bio information for Sweethearts and Homecoming Court members must be turned in by Wednesday, September 26 to Ms. Alli Eidson in room 632.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s first shout out goes to the Lion's Cross Country Team for dominating at the Lithia Springs Sweetwater Meet yesterday. The Lady Lions placed first overall with top 10 finishes from Madeline Potts, Abby Cook, Madelyn Hull, Cadie Kilgore, and Maddie Heuer.  The men placed second overall with top 10 finishes from Brenden Slater, Nick Potts, and Sidney Stone. Congrats also to Kyler Huff, Madison Honea, and Angel Muniz who all ran personal records yesterday. Great job everyone!

Our second shout out goes to the Varsity Volleyball for destroying Chapel Hill in a Region match last night. The ladies won 25-11 and 25-19. Great job ladies!!

NEW NEWS

Homecoming King and Queen nominations will be Friday. All students, grades 9 through 12, will vote on one senior female and one senior male on court to represent Central High School as the 2018 Homecoming King and Queen.

Attention FBLA members: See Dr. Vick in room 141 TOMORROW during lunch to pick up your FBLA tee shirt!

Announcing SAT Prep Classes! Monday at 3:30 p.m. Math in room 405 and Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Verbal in room 633.

If you are interested in joining the Bass Fishing Club, plan to attend an interest meeting tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

If you like playing knockerball or soccer darts, Tug-o-War, or Powder Puff football, sign-up to participate during Homecoming week in the Media Center. These activities will take place Monday, October 8 during the Community Pep Rally. 

Attention FFA members: There is a meeting in the 3-story atrium today after school.

If you missed this morning’s Key Club meeting, plan to stay to after school and meet in room 732.

The Buddy Program meets in the Media Center tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. Be there or be square!

Central High School is sponsoring a Blood Drive October 2 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. See Ms. Startup for details.

Central FFA will be hosting a Spirit Night at American Pie this tomorrow. Dine-in or take-out proceeds will go to help student programs and the Ag in the Classroom outreach class!

Students, are you interested in a career using Agriculture equipment and machinery? Ms. Williford with Central FFA will be visiting the South Georgia Technical College on September 28. Stop by her classroom to learn about the certification and pick up a permission form.

Attention 11th grade students: September 27 is the deadline for PSAT registration. See Ms. Dixon in the Guidance Office to register and pay your $16.00 fee. Fee waivers are also available in the Guidance Office.

DUES & FEES

Senior Fees: $125 until December 15; see Ms. Duffey in the main office.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. See Mr. Trumble, Wooten, or Perryman.

Yearbook: $80.  See Ms. Monica Smith.

HOMECOMING DATES & DEADLINES

The deadline to submit Sweetheart and Homecoming Court dresses for approval (front and back photos) is Wednesday, October 3. Submissions should be emailed to Ms. Eidson at alli.eidson@carrollcountyschools.com.

Thursday, October 4, during 3rd period, there is a mandatory Sweetheart practice from 10:15-11:12 a.m. on the home side of the football stadium.

Thursday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. there is a mandatory Homecoming Court practice on the home side of football stadium.

AFTER SCHOOL

Softball travels to Heard County and Volleyball is at Villa Rica. Come out and support our Central Lions!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
