The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

Announcing SAT Prep Classes! Monday at 3:30 p.m. Math in room 405 and Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Verbal in room 633.

SHOUT OUT

Today’s super big shout out goes to Karis Askin for bringing home 1st place honors in the Carroll County Young Farmers Employability Skills competition. Karis received a plaque and scholarship and will compete in the Georgia FFA Association Area 1 competition in November. Way to go Karis!!

Our second shout out goes to this year’s Art Club officers: Secretary - Emily Brooks, Vice-President - Sanya Rivera and President - Sara Brooks.

Our final shout out goes to the Marching Pride for giving the performance of a lifetime at the Roopville Parade this past weekend. In addition, band students sold 3,000 Cow Chip Tickets and 699 candles in a very short period of time; great job students and thank you to the community that supports our Central bands! Go Pride go!

NEW NEWS

If you are interested in joining the Bass Fishing Club, plan to attend an interest meeting on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

Attention Sweethearts and Homecoming Court members: If you did not make it to this morning’s meeting, it is mandatory that you attend this afternoon’s meeting in the Media Center.

Students who purchased a Homecoming tee shirt are able to sign-up to participate in activities beginning today in the Media Center between classes. Remember, you must sign-up to join in the fun!

Attention FFA members: There is a meeting in the 3-story atrium this Wednesday after school.

Attention Students: Are you interested in The Best Buddy Program??? This is a brand new club at Central High School. We will be having an informational meeting next Thursday, September 20 at 8:00 a.m. in the Media Center. Come to the meeting and learn about this amazing program and all of the fun it has to offer!!!

Tomorrow is school picture day! Remember to bring your order form and money if you want to order pictures. As an alternative to bringing payment to school, you can also pay online! Enter the school code that is on the order form.

Seniors, tomorrow is the LAST day for you to take your senior portrait and have it in the yearbook! Schedule your appointment immediately. Go to seniors.legacystudios.com. There is also a link on the school web page.

Senior Class Officers and Student Council members have a meeting Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. with Balfour in the Media Center. Please be on time!

Students, are you interested in a career using Agriculture equipment and machinery? Ms. Williford with Central FFA will be visiting the South Georgia Technical College on September 28. Stop by her classroom to learn about the certification and pick up a permission form.

Central FFA will be hosting a Spirit Night at American Pie on September 20. Dine-in or take-out proceeds will go to help student programs and the Ag in the Classroom outreach class!

Attention 11th grade students: September 27 is the deadline for PSAT registration. See Ms. Dixon in the Guidance Office to register and pay your $16.00 fee. Fee waivers are also available in the Guidance Office.

DUES & FEES

Senior Fees: $125 until December 15; see Ms. Duffey in the main office.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. See Mr. Trumble, Wooten, or Perryman.

Yearbook: $80.  See Ms. Monica Smith.

AFTER SCHOOL

JV softball plays at Calloway at 4:30 p.m. and volleyball plays at home tonight at 5:00 p.m. Stay after school and support our Lady Lions!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
