Central High School

Announcements for Thursday, September 6, 2018

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

Accelerating 11th grade students are encouraged to sign up to take the PSAT October 11 to receive college scholarships and to help prepare for the SAT. The cost to take the PSAT is $16.00. Please bring this in cash or check form to Ms. Dixon in the Guidance Office when you sign up. The deadline to sign up is September 27. If you are interested, there is a fee waiver available, see Ms. Zerr in room 708. Twenty test spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attention FBLA Members: There will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 11 in room 607 at 7:45 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. Please make plans to attend one meeting.

Seniors: If you are in Coach Jones’ or Ms. Trumble’s advisement, you will meet in the Media Center today. All other seniors should report to the cafeteria for advisement. Check your schedules before advisement time if you are unsure of which advisement you are in.

Attention all students! Yearbooks are currently on sale for $70. This price includes a name stamp on the front of the book. Prices increase to $80 on September 15. You can order online at, or you can see Mrs. Monica Smith. All students who purchase a book by October 26 will have their name entered into a drawing for a $50 Chick-Fil-A gift card!

Seniors portraits will be this Saturday, September 8. Sign up for an appointment online! You must have your picture taken at school in order for it to be included in the yearbook!

Attention Math Students: if you are interested in joining the Math Team, please plan to attend a meeting September 11 at 7:50 a.m. or 3:45 p.m, in Mr. Murphy’s room. We are looking for students from each math class for the team.

Attention Students: Carroll County Schools is hosting Dual Enrollment night on Monday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Performing Arts Center. This is for high school students and parents who may be contemplating dual enrollment for second semester. We will have experts present to explain the admissions process, requirements, and we will answer all your questions.

Senior Fees: $125 until December 15; see Ms. Duffey in the main office.

Junior Prom Dues: $100 until December 18. See Mr. Trumble, Wooten, or Perryman.
