Central High School

Announcements for Tuesday, August 28, 2018

The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.

Today’s big shout out goes to Central High School Cross Country Team members who set personal records at their meet this weekend: Brenden Slater, Sidney Stone, Austin Bennett, Jacob Schmittou, Clint Rainwater, Sachal Denney, Aidan Gresham, Madelyn Hull, Cadie Kilgore, and Madelynn Heuer. Great job guys!

Our second shout out goes to the Lady Lions Volleyball Teams. Teams traveled to Temple. JV went 1-1, losing a tight one to South Paulding before coming back to beat Temple in the nightcap. The varsity girls defeated a solid South Paulding team before wiping the floor with Temple.  JV improved to 6-2 and varsity is now 10-3 on the season. Outstanding job ladies!

The first Spanish Honor Society meeting will be this Friday, August 31, at 7:30 a.m. in Sra. Smith's room. Please make plans to attend.

Central High School will be administering the SAT on campus October 10 to 11th and 12th grade students only. Students must register for this opportunity by August 27. Please visit the Guidance page on the school website to register or see Ms. Zerr in 708.

Football is still selling Lion Valley tee shirts. See Ms. Duffey in the front office; shirts are $15 each.

Attention Seniors: Take care of $125 fees for cap and gown orders!

Volleyball travels is home against Oak Mountain and softball travels to Troup County. Stay after school and support our ladies!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, stay positive, work hard, and make it happen!
