The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and have students get rid of all food from outside vendors. Ask students to spit out gum and remove all head gear. Students must use earbuds, not headphones.  


Today’s first shout out goes to the Lady Lions Softball Team for beating Cartersville 8-3 last night. Maggie Harris pitched a complete game for the Lions and Faith Bennett led the offense. Great job ladies!

The second shout out goes to Senior Drew Smith for helping to unveil the new custom graduation gown for the Class of 2019. The new graduation gown is on display in the Media Center. Thank you to Sarah Hall, Jane Lyons, and Sandy Duffey for attending the Senior Parent Meeting and collecting senior fees.

Our final shout out goes to JV and varsity volleyball who were in action last night in Villa Rica. Both teams went 1 and 1 on the night losing tight ones to VR before rallying to beat Hiram in the nightcap.  Varsity returns to action Saturday in Rockmart Tournament. Great job ladies!


Thursday, August 23 Carroll County Schools is hosting the first annual Senior Expo. Seniors will have the opportunity to learn what’s available after high school. Chick-Fil-A is sponsoring lunch for all seniors following the Expo. Listen to morning announcements for more details!

Attention Seniors: Senior fees of $125 can be paid in the main office, see Ms. Duffey to pay fees and give her your height, weight, and tee shirt size for the cap and gown order. Fees increase to $150 December 16, so take care of business early!

Seniors can stop by the Media Center to scan the Cap and Gown QR code to submit height and weight information for graduation, as well as your tee shirt size for the alumni tee shirt.

Attention students: Are you interested in joining Future Business Leaders of America? There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 21 at 7:45 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. in Room 607. You can see Mrs. Hall or Dr. Vick for membership forms.


Students: Homecoming t-shirts will be for sale in September for one week, September 10-14.  Homecoming shirts are not currently on sale. For more information or questions, please see one of your class officers or student council members.  

Key Club will have their first meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 15 in the morning from 7:30-8:15 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3:45-4:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend one of the meetings in Mrs. Bowen’s room 732.

If you received a Spanish Test Out permission form, please return to the Guidance Office by Wednesday, August 15 in order to participate.

Central High School FFA membership forms are available in the Ag department! Dues are $20, include a chapter tee shirt and car decal, plus participation in all of the upcoming events and competitions! Mum order forms are also available. Stop by to grab one today or see how you can get your dues covered in full!  

Students interested in joining the Central High School Shotgun Team should plan to attend a meeting tonight in the Media Center at 6:00 p.m. Team tryouts will take place August 20 at 5:00 p.m. at the Little River Gun Club. Be sure to attend tonight’s meeting to obtain the required tryout paperwork.

Attention students: Tea will be on sale in the cafeteria for $1 per glass at lunch.

Students who have gray hang tags are to park beside the NEW GYM ONLY! If your hang tag is white, you park in the Regular Student Parking Lot. Gray hang tags are for Dream Team ONLY!


Softball plays at home against Heard County tonight at 5:00 p.m. Come out and support our Lady Lions!
