The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, toss vendor food, have students spit out gum, remove hoods, only use earbuds and take up blankets.

There will be NO math tutoring during 1, 2, 3 periods today.


Today’s big shout out goes to band member Hannah Royals for being selected to the Governor's Honors Program in Music! This is a HUGE honor! We are proud of you!! Go Pride Go!!!

Our second big shout out goes to the Lady Lions golf team for winning the 1st Annual West Georgia Classic at The Fields Golf Course yesterday. Ainsley Cowart was tournament champion with a score of 75 and LoraLie Cowart was runner-up with an 82. Morgan Collins finished with a 90 and Shi Phillips 115. Great job ladies!


The current 2017-2018 class officers and student council will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the Media Center tomorrow morning. Please plan to attend.

Anyone interested trying out for next year’s softball team, please stop by to see Coach McKenna Friday, April 20.

Students taking an AP exam that signed up to attend Tuesday's meeting must report to the Media Center at the beginning of 3rd period to meet with Ms. Zerr.

Attention students, Southern Therapy will be offering "FREE" physicals on Thursday, April 26. If you plan to participate in athletics during the 2018-19 school year you must have an updated physical. Please see Coach Smiley or Ms. Duffey for physical paperwork. Southern Therapy has a consent form that must be signed in order for their caregivers to perform physicals for our student athletes. The Southern Therapy form as well as all the other forms, must be signed. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get a “FREE” physical!!! See Coach Smiley with any questions.

Coach Smiley and the football team are looking for team managers.  If you are interested in helping the football team for this upcoming year please see Coach Smiley.

Anyone interested in playing football this upcoming school year need to have their parents attend a football parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Important information will be given out at this meeting, so please make sure to have your parents there if you plan to play this upcoming year. See Coach Smiley with any questions.

There will be an FFA Officer Interest Meeting on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:45 a.m. If you are interested in a leadership position with the FFA, stop by! There are college program and job placement options in farm and/or diesel machinery available through local dealerships. Please see Ms. Williford for more information.

FFA Plant Sale dates have been moved to April 16-20. Early sale 10% off days are April 16 and 17. Check out the flyer posted on Facebook and support our FFA greenhouse!


Seniors are eligible for a wide variety of scholarships for many different fields, from the Carroll EMC Lineman School scholarships to scholarships for people with red hair.  Your counselor needs to know what your future plans are so that we can help get you the information you to prepare for your future. Please complete the short survey on the Senior Google Classroom run by the Guidance Office.  If you have not previously accessed this Google Classroom, the code is olbpbuz.

Students interested in Career Connections (formerly called Work-Based Learning) should fill out an application at Program details and requirements can be found on the web link. The Career Connections handout is available in the guidance office. Forms are due no later than April 15.


Golf plays at Oak Mountain, varsity baseball travels to Cedartown and soccer will be home against Hiram.
