The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors, have students spit out gum and remove hoods. Only earbuds are used on campus, not Beat headphones. Blankets should be left at home and not brought to school.

SHOUT OUT

Our first big shout out goes to our fantastic Central High School Chorus Program. Congratulations to Central High School’s Advanced Women’s Chorus and Advanced Mixed Chorus for achieving all superior ratings at yesterday’s Large Group Performance Evaluations!

The Lady Lions golf team won the Granger Invitation at Highlands Country Club yesterday. Ainsley Cowart lead the team with a low round score of (68), with Loralie Cowart trailing close behind with a low score of (77). Morgan Collins finished out the team with an (89). Great job ladies!

Our final shout out of the morning goes to the following Central High School Track Team members who placed during yesterday’s Granger Meet in LaGrange.

Boys Discus, Jarvis Brown 2nd Place

The Boys Finished 3rd Overall in the Granger Meet. Great job team!!

NEW NEWS

Coach Smiley and the football team are looking for team managers.  If you are interested in helping the football team for this upcoming year please see Coach Smiley.

Anyone interested in playing football this upcoming school year need to have their parents attend a football parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Important information will be given out at this meeting, so please make sure to have your parents there if you plan to play this upcoming year. See Coach Smiley with any questions.

There will be an FFA Officer Interest Meeting on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:45 a.m. If you are interested in a leadership position with the FFA, stop by! There are college program and job placement options in farm and/or diesel machinery available through local dealerships. Please see Ms. Williford for more information.

FFA Plant Sale dates have been moved to April 16-20. Early sale 10% off days are April 16 and 17. Check out the flyer posted on Facebook and support our FFA greenhouse!

Seniors are eligible for a wide variety of scholarships for many different fields, from the Carroll EMC Lineman School scholarships to scholarships for people with red hair.  Your counselor needs to know what your future plans are so that we can help get you the information you to prepare for your future. Please complete the short survey on the Senior Google Classroom run by the Guidance Office.  If you have not previously accessed this Google Classroom, the code is olbpbuz.

Students interested in Career Connections (formerly called Work-Based Learning) should fill out an application at cc.carrollcountyschools.com. Program details and requirements can be found on the web link. The Career Connections handout is available in the guidance office. Forms are due no later than April 15.

AFTER SCHOOL

Varsity baseball plays at home tonight against Chapel Hill, JV baseball travels to Chapel Hill, and JV boys soccer is home against South Paulding County High School tonight.

Over spring break the Boys Golf Invitational takes place at Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course. Make plans to be outside and support our Lions!

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, we are one community, one family, and one pride. Keep it rolling and keep it clean!
