The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors, have students spit out gum and remove hoods. Only earbuds are used on campus, not Beat headphones.

The Pride Leadership group will meet tomorrow morning in the TLC room at 7:30 a.m. Please see Coach Smiley if you can not attend or have any questions.

Last day to turn in cheer tryout forms is TODAY. If you are interested, you need to make sure all your forms are turned in. Tryouts begin Monday at 3:45 in the old gym.


Today’s big shout out goes to the Central High School Tennis Teams for defeating Mt Zion on SENIOR NIGHT. The girls won 5-0 and the boys won 5-0! Great job teams!!

Today’s second big shout out goes to the Lady Lions Soccer Team for clobbering Cedartown 7-1! Jenna Lillie had 3 goals, Emily Ruiz, Jaycie Benefield, Janae Jackson, and Summer Ligon all had 1 goal. Assists came from Janae Jackson, Heidi Anderson, Summer Ligon, Madeline Potts, and Hannah Puckett! Fantastic team effort ladies!!

Our third shout out goes to Anna Handley for being accepting into the Carroll EMC Washington Youth Tour. The Washington Youth Tour is the oldest youth leadership program in the nation, dating back to 1957! Anna is one of three (3) high school students from this area that will travel to Washington D.C. for a week of touring and meeting our nation’s leaders with all expenses paid! This is a huge honor for Anna and for Central High School! Congratulations Anna!!!

Our final shout out of the morning goes to the varsity baseball team for clobbering Carver 16-1! This was a great team victory, everyone contributed to the big win.


Attention students who turned in applications for Class Officer or Student Council: Your name is not officially on the ballot until you receive email notification from Ms. Cowart. All applications will be reviewed for attendance and GPA requirements. Please do not hang campaign posters until you have received official notification. Thank you.

Attention all returning members of the boys basketball team. There will be a team meeting immediately after school tomorrow with Coach Edwards. The meeting will start at 3:45 p.m. in the health classroom in the Walker gym. Please see Coach Smiley with any questions.

Today is the last chance to buy an American Heart Association wristband from Key Club for $5.00. Wear your wristband Friday and wear a hat. Your name will be placed in a drawing for a $25.00 giftcard from Chick-Fil-A. Stop by Ms. Bowen's room 732 today, help AHA, and get your name in the drawing.

Attention Key Club members: Pancake breakfast money is due to Mr. Bowen no later than Monday.

Senior Key Club members should come see Ms. Bowen in 732 about a Kiwanis Scholarship opportunity.

Attention students and staff! FCA will be held TOMORROW at 7:45 a.m. in the Wrestling room! Come hear Brady West from Mt. Pleasant will bring us an awesome message! We will also talk about some exciting events coming up soon! We can't wait for you to join us!

Talent Show auditions have been rescheduled for tonight and tomorrow, immediately after school in room 401.

The Carroll County Animal Shelter is collecting old blankets, sheets, treats and toys. If you would like to donate, please drop your items off with Ms. Sandy Eidson in room 305.

The Spanish Honor Society will be selling bracelets made by Nicaraguan and Honduran families during ALL lunches this week. The bracelets are ONLY $5 each and the money will go directly to the family that made the bracelet. Each bracelet is tagged with a picture and signature of the person who made it. Don't forget to bring $5!

Attention students attending Prom: Senior walk is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. with lineup beginning at 7:00 p.m. Let your folks know senior walk will take place outside the venue. Prom invitations are available for pick up in room 633.


Attention students: if you have not yet purchased a yearbook, we have a limited number available for purchase. You can purchase a yearbook from Mrs. Monica Smith in room 626 between classes, or you can drop off your payment in the main office.  You can also order online. Go to to place your order. Our school code is 2305. The online site will close on March 30. If you are not sure whether you have purchased a book, please contact Monica Smith. You will receive yearbooks later in May.

Seniors are eligible for a wide variety of scholarships for many different fields, from the Carroll EMC Lineman School scholarships to scholarships for people with red hair.  Your counselor needs to know what your future plans are so that we can help get you the information you to prepare for your future. Please complete the short survey on the Senior Google Classroom run by the Guidance Office.  If you have not previously accessed this Google Classroom, the code is olbpbuz.

Any senior planning to attend West Georgia Technical College after graduation can register to take the ACCUPLACER admissions test for free on March 29.  You must register in the Guidance Office by noon on March 23.

Students interested in Career Connections (formerly called Work-Based Learning) should fill out an application at Program details and requirements can be found on the web link. The Career Connections handout is available in the guidance office. Forms are due no later than April 15.

Tennis travels to Cedartown tonight, JV baseball is in Bowdon, and varsity baseball plays at home tonight against Troup County. Saturday, the Central JV Tennis Teams will travel to LaGrange for a Tournament.
