The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors, have students spit out gum and remove hoods. Only earbuds are used on campus, not Beat headphones.

Prom fees have increased to $200 for juniors, $100 for seniors who did not pay as juniors, and the date fee for students who are not juniors or seniors at Central High School has increased to $100. All fees must be paid in cash. See  Ms. Trumble, Ms. Wooten or Ms. Perryman to pay your fees.

The Pride Leadership group will meet this Friday morning in the TLC room at 7:30am. Please see Coach Smiley if you can not attend or have any questions.


In honor of Beta Club week Drew Smith announces a big shout out to Mrs. Rebecca Smith! You are the best math teacher EVER! You always encourage your students and make us laugh! Autumn Kessler sends her shout out to Ms. Thornton, You pushed me to achieve so much more than what I had in mind and game me so much joy in life. Madelyn Turner sends her shout out to Mrs. Erin Smith, I love Spanish this year thanks to you! I may not know what's going on all the time but I have so much fun trying. Thanks for making your class interesting and not just one I sit and leave in. Thank you for being such a fabulous Spanish teacher!!! Finally, Abigail Sadler shouts out to Coach Cole, You are an amazing teacher and I learned so much about history and life. You’re the best!

Our second shout out goes to the Central Tennis teams for working hard in a tough match against Bremen. Emily Justice, Anna Carnes, Lauren Buchanan, and Lance Crawford pick up the wins yesterday. The Boys Tennis Team is looking to bounce back against Hillgrove on Friday and the Girls Tennis Team will play North Hall Friday.


Teachers, please read your email from Ms. Akin regarding student surveys in the Media Center.

Any senior planning to attend West Georgia Technical College after graduation can register to take the ACCUPLACER admissions test for free on March 29th.  You must register in the Guidance Office by noon on March 23rd.


Has your family lost a loved one to heart failure? If so, then you can help. The American Heart Association funds research to help people stay healthy. Key Club is raising money for American Heart Association Five to Life campaign. You can help this worthy campaign by buying a wristband during lunch for $5.00. When you make a purchase, your name will go into a drawing for a $25.00 Chick-Fil-A gift card. In addition, you will have permission to wear your hat with your wristband on March 16 and 23.

Ms. Leonine pageant contestants should plan to attend a meeting on after school on Monday, March 12, in room 401. If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Phillips in room 401.

If you are interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 cheerleading team, you need to see Mrs. Jordan to pick up paperwork. Once you have paperwork completed, you need to turn it in to Mrs. Jordan. You must have a physical on file to participate in tryouts.

Friday, March 9, Carroll County Schools will host a district wide awareness and fundraiser day for the March of Dimes. We encourage everyone to contribute $1 to wear a hat and wear purple. Funds will be collected from all 23 schools and the county office in support of fighting premature births. Please do you part and buy your sticker to wear a hat! Stickers will be on sale in the cafeteria and gym before school next week. You must wear a sticker to participate; thank you for your support of this worthy cause.

If you are interested in playing volleyball next year, please plan to attend an informational meeting in the Walker Gym on Thursday, March 15 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Coach Chris Smith at

Students interested in Career Connections (formerly called Work-Based Learning) should fill out an application at Program details and requirements can be found on the web link. The Career Connections handout is available in the guidance office. Forms are due no later than April 15.

Students, if you are going to prom, you must fill out a prom form. If your date does not attend Central High School, you must get a date form for your date and your must provide a copy of their driver's license.  Please see Mrs. Trumble, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. DeFriese for prom forms. All forms must be returned by March 16.

JV tennis plays at Bowdon, JV baseball is home against Alexander, golf is at Oak Mountain, and track is at Mt. Zion. Tomorrow tennis travels to LaGrange, soccer is home against Chapel Hill and baseball is home against Bremen. JV baseball plays home on Saturday against Lafayette Christian and tennis is at LaGrange.
