The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors, have students spit out gum and remove hoods. Only earbuds are used on campus, not Beat headphones.

The Pride Leadership group will meet tomorrow morning in the TLC room at 7:30 a.m. Please see Coach Smiley if you can not attend or have any questions.


Today’s big shout out goes to Literary student Carolina Butler for taking 1st place with her narrative essay, to Victoria Richardson for earning 1st place in rhetorical essay and to Brant Entrekin for taking 1st place in domestic extemporaneous speaking. These students, along with the chorus quartet, will be heading to state competition in Warner Robins on March 17. Congratulations Literary Team!

Our second big shout out goes to Anna Handley for being named the Carroll County Schools STAR Student at yesterday’s recognition breakfast. Anna scored the highest score in Carroll County Schools on a single test date for the SAT by the end of November. Anna selected Mr. David Rooks as her STAR Teacher. If you see Anna in the hallway today, please congratulate her. Earning the highest score of all seniors taking the SAT in Carroll County Schools is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations Anna!


Oodles of Noodles, the Bosses of Sauces, and Nothing Beats the Meats! Friday, March 2, join the lunchroom staff to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and our first pasta bar!!

Friday, March 9, Carroll County Schools will host a district wide awareness and fundraiser day for the March of Dimes. We encourage everyone to contribute $1 to wear a hat and wear purple. Funds will be collected from all 23 schools and the county office in support of fighting premature births. Please do you part and buy your sticker to wear a hat! Stickers will be on sale in the cafeteria and gym before school next week. You must wear a sticker to participate; thank you for your support of this worthy cause.

Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students: Course requests forms for the 2018-2019 school year are being sent home today during 6th period. If you are not on campus during 6th period, please pick up your form in the guidance office. This form requires a student and parent signature and is due no later than Tuesday, March 6 in the guidance office. Any changes or notations should be made directly on the form.

If you are interested in playing volleyball next year, please plan to attend an informational meeting in the Walker Gym on Thursday, March 15 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Coach Chris Smith at


Students interested in Career Connections (formerly called Work-Based Learning) should fill out an application at Program details and requirements can be found on the web link. The Career Connections handout is available in the guidance office. Forms are due no later than April 15.

The Miss Leonine Pageant has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 17 at the Performing Arts Center. Coaches and club sponsors are encouraged to sponsor a young lady for this Central High School tradition. Applications are available in room 401; please see Ms. Phillips with questions.

Students, if you are going to prom, you must fill out a prom form. If your date does not attend Central High School, you must get a date form for your date and your must provide a copy of their driver's license.  Please see Mrs. Trumble, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. DeFriese for prom forms.  All forms must be returned by March 16.

Soccer plays at home against LaGrange and JV baseball travels to Haralson County. Golf is in Canton Saturday and varsity baseball plays in the Lakepoint facility. Come out and support our teams!
