The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors, have students spit out gum and remove hoods. Only earbuds are used on campus, not Beat headphones.

Attention Students: Central High School will not accept deliveries for Valentine’s Day.

Teachers: Check your email from Mr. Long regarding tomorrow’s Black History Month presentation in the Walker Gym.


Our first shoutout goes to students who participated in the Kiwanis Art Showcase Awards Ceremony. The following Visual Artists were recognized: Baylee Steed- 10th grade Honorable Mention, Abigail Sadler - second place ($300) and Morgan Collins - first place($400).  All three will now compete at the state level Kiwanis competition. Congratulations to all of the participants, of this year's exhibition. Everyone did a fantastic job!

Our second shout out goes to the Boys Soccer Team for defeating East Laurens 5-3. Will McJury scored 2 goals, Kelvin Nunez scored 2 goals, and Dylan Combs had his first varsity goal! Great job Lions!

Our third shout out goes to CJ Shadinger for placing in the state wrestling tournament.

The Miss Leonine Pageant has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 17 at the Performing Arts Center. Coaches and club sponsors are encouraged to sponsor a young lady for this Central High School tradition. Applications are available in room 401; please see Ms. Phillips with questions.

If you are interested in participating in the basketball shoot out during the pep rally on Friday, please stop by Coach Perryman's room, room 632, and sign up on the sheet outside the door. Put your name and your grade. We will draw names out of a hat on Friday.

Through our participation with Abby’s Angels Foundation we will be honoring her life celebrating kindness throughout CHS.  We will participate in activities everyday during all lunches. Today is Meaningful Monday. There will be a banner hanging outside the cafeteria and post-it notes for students to write positive phrases or to report random acts of kindness they have completed. Please stop by and participate today during your lunch!


Are you interested in helping the Carroll County Soup Kitchen? Do you also like to make and design things? If so, join Melanie Drew from Blue Heron Studios in the cafeteria on Wednesday, February 7 afterschool to make and design your own bowl from clay. Bowls will be sold at Carroll County Empty Bowls on Sunday, February 25 from 11:00-2:30 p.m. at the Ag Center. All proceeds benefit the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. Please see Mr. Biddle in room 636 to sign up for this wonderful cause!

Students, if you are going to prom, you must fill out a prom form. If your date does not attend Central High School, you must get a date form for your date and your must provide a copy of their driver's license.  Please see Mrs. Trumble, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Defriese for prom forms.  All forms must be returned by March 16.

West Georgia Technical College will be on our campus on Thursday morning, February 15 at 8:15 a.m. in the Media Center Computer Lab giving the ACCUPLACER Exam. The ACCUPLACER is a free entrance exam to gain admission to West Georgia Technical College. This test date is specifically for students in 9th through 11th grade who are interested in participating in the Dual Enrollment program.  Another ACCUPLACER will be scheduled in late March for seniors who are interested in enrolling at West Georgia Technical College after high school graduation. If you are interested in taking the ACCUPLACER on February 15, please drop by the Guidance Office to sign-up for the test.

AP Exam registration is open today through February 19; please see the QR codes posted around campus, on Facebook, the Guidance Office webpage or Ms. Zerr for the link to register. All Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be registered for online at

Chorus has a Showcase Concert in the cafeteria tonight at 7 p.m. Boys tennis plays at home against Villa Rica and varsity baseball is at home against Heard County.

It’s a great day to be a Central Lion and let’s remember, we are one community, one family, and one pride. Keep it rolling and keep it clean!
