The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors and have students remove hoods and headgear while on campus. The use of Beat headphones is not allowed in school, earbuds only.


Today’s big shout out goes to the Central Lady Lions basketball team for clinching a birth in the Georgia State Playoffs! The Lions were down by 13 to Cedartown in the 4th quarter and came charging back to send the game into overtime. The Lions pulled away in overtime to win 54-51. Central was led by Janae Jackson with 20 points, Nyah Houston had 11, Haley Fehring had 8, and Asia Mitchell added 7. The Lions will take on LaGrange on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Great job ladies!

Today’s second shout out goes to Dylan High for signing with the Gordon Highlanders to play baseball and to Malcolm Brown and Fedarian Williams for signing with Middle Georgia Knights to play football! Congratulations!

Our third shout out goes to the Teacher of the Month, Ms. Liz Beverly, and the Paraprofessional of the Month, Ms. Rhonda Daniel. Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Month are selected by faculty and staff. Congratulations!!


The yearbook staff is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Leonine yearbook staff! Information is posted outside of English teacher's classrooms. The deadline for applying is TODAY. Please see Mrs. Monica Smith if you have any questions.

The Miss Leonine Pageant has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 17 at the Performing Arts Center. Coaches and club sponsors are encouraged to sponsor a young lady for this Central High School tradition. Applications are available in room 401; please see Ms. Phillips with questions.


Are you interested in helping the Carroll County Soup Kitchen? Do you also like to make and design things? If so, join Melanie Drew from Blue Heron Studios in the cafeteria on Wednesday, February 7 afterschool to make and design your own bowl from clay. Bowls will be sold at Carroll County Empty Bowls on Sunday, February 25 from 11:00-2:30 p.m. at the Ag Center. All proceeds benefit the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. Please see Mr. Biddle in room 636 to sign up for this wonderful cause!

Students, if you are going to prom, you must fill out a prom form. If your date does not attend Central High School, you must get a date form for your date and your must provide a copy of their driver's license.  Please see Mrs. Trumble, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Defriese for prom forms.  All forms must be returned by March 16.

West Georgia Technical College will be on our campus on Thursday morning, February 15 at 8:15 am in the Media Center Computer Lab giving the ACCUPLACER Exam.  The ACCUPLACER is a free entrance exam to gain admission to West Georgia Technical College.  This test date is specifically for students in grades 9 through eleven who are interested in participating in the Dual Enrollment program.  Another ACCUPLACER will be scheduled in late March for seniors who are interested in enrolling at West Georgia Technical College after high school graduation.  If you are interested in taking the ACCUPLACER on February 15, please drop by the Guidance Office to sign-up for the test.

AP Exam registration is open today through February 19; please see the QR codes posted around campus, on Facebook, the Guidance Office webpage or Ms. Zerr for the link to register. All Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be registered for online at
