The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code, ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors and have students remove hoods and headgear while inside on campus. The use of Beat headphones is not allowed in school, earbuds only.


Today’s super huge shout out goes our Central High School FBLA chapter for winning the Region 7 Sweepstakes for the 2nd year in a row. This is the 6th win in 7th years and a new school record! The following students will advance to state in March: Olivia Hall, Sydney Wiggins, Madison Spruell, Anna Handley, Abbie McWhorter, Marie Thompson, Carolina Butler, Brant Entrekin, Anna Carnes, Kate Dufour, Isabella Herring, Naomi Norbraten, Heidi Anderson, Christian Putman, Elizabeth Haney, Alyssa Phillips, Drew Smith, Samuel Eidson, and Andrew Stewart! Mrs. Hall and Dr. Vick are proud of all students who tested and competed!

Our second big shout out goes to Sam Conerly for being the Master of Ceremonies for senior night at the basketball game. Sam did an outstanding job announcing each senior as they took center court. Way to go Sam!

Our final shout out today goes to Ms. Karolyn Sales for singing the National Anthem with her family between the boys and girls games last night. Great job Karolyn!!


The ASVAB has been rescheduled for this Friday, February 2. Please report to room 707 if you signed up to take the test, at the beginning of 1st pd. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Attention students and staff! Come join us for FCA this Friday in the Wrestling room at 7:45 a.m! We will be taking our club picture that day! FCA has an AWESOME fundraising opportunity we will be discussing, so come join us Friday!

The FFA will take their club yearbook picture on a Friday, February 2, before school. Please be in the 3-story atrium by 7:50 a.m. wearing your FFA shirt.


Students, if you are going to prom, you must fill out a prom form. If your date does not attend Central High School, you must get a date form for your date and your must provide a copy of their driver's license.  Please see Mrs. Trumble, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Defriese for prom forms.  All forms must be returned by March 16.

West Georgia Technical College will be on our campus on Thursday morning, February 15 at 8:15 am in the Media Center Computer Lab giving the ACCUPLACER Exam.  The ACCUPLACER is a free entrance exam to gain admission to West Georgia Technical College.  This test date is specifically for students in grades 9 through eleven who are interested in participating in the Dual Enrollment program.  Another ACCUPLACER will be scheduled in late March for seniors who are interested in enrolling at West Georgia Technical College after high school graduation.  If you are interested in taking the ACCUPLACER on February 15, please drop by the Guidance Office to sign-up for the test.

The yearbook staff is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Leonine yearbook staff! Information is posted outside of English teacher's classrooms. The deadline for applying is February 7, 2018. Please see Mrs. Monica Smith if you have any questions.

AP Exam registration is open today through February 19; please see the QR codes posted around campus, on Facebook, the Guidance Office webpage or Ms. Zerr for the link to register. All Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be registered for online at

Basketball plays at home Friday against Sandy Creek and Soccer travels to Columbus. There is a meeting in the cafeteria for all parents of tennis players Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.
