SHOUT OUT

Congratulations to the Central High School Marching Pride on an outstanding competition Saturday at the Warrior Invitational in Calhoun, Georgia. The Pride earned all Superior Ratings and Open Class Caption Awards in all areas, including drum major, guard, percussion and band. The event concluded with the Pride winning the overall Grand Championship with a final score of 96.33.  Their final competition of the year will be this Saturday in Statesboro, Georgia at the East Georgia Marching Championships. Congratulations to all the students of the Marching Pride and way to go Neil Ruby! Woo hoo!

All students who have signed up for the CHS Math Team, please come by Mr. Murphy's room some time this week.

Students, yearbooks are on sale for $85, but they won't be for long! The last day to purchase a book for $85 is Tuesday, October 31. Prices increase to $95 November 1. You can order online at yearbookordercenter.com, you can see Mrs. Duffey in the main office, or you can see Mrs. Monica Smith in room 626.

Students, if you go by a name other than your first name listed in Infinite Campus, let the yearbook staff know your name preference for the yearbook. Look for QR codes outside English and math teacher classrooms. The deadline for submitting name preferences is this Wednesday, October 25.

Students that are interested in trying out for the 2018 boys and girls Tennis Teams can sign-up outside Mrs. Startup’s office this week.

Central High School boys basketball tryouts will be held next Monday, October 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Walker gym. Players must have updated physicals to tryout.

If you are interested in study abroad, there will be an informational meeting in Ms. Kuzy Jenkins room 144 on Wednesday, October 25 at 5:30 p.m.. We are planning a trip to Italy and Greece. Your parents must attend if you are interested in the trip.

The Central High School Ag Department will host an interest meeting for a pilot after school course called  - Women in Agricultural Mechanics. The meeting is open to female students who are in grades 10-12. If you have ever been interested in learning how to fabricate woodworking projects or weld, come to the information meeting Thursday, October 26! The meeting should last no more than 30 minutes in Ms. Williford’s room.

Teachers, if you are interested in purchasing poinsettias for this holiday season, please look for the email Ms. Williford sent with a QR code and link for making the purchase. Pre-orders will be taken through November 9. There are pink, white, and red in various sizes sold in conjunction with Mt. Zion's FFA. Few extras will be available when orders are picked up on November 30.

AFTER SCHOOL

The Beta Club Induction ceremony is tonight at 6:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. Come support our new inductees! Parent University meets tomorrow night in the Media Center at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will focus on grading. All parents are invited to attend.
