The mission of Central High School is to provide all students with educational opportunities through a challenging curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse school community.

Teachers -- Please check dress code and ask students to get rid of food and drinks from outside vendors.

Attention Basketball Cheerleader Tryout Candidates: Today is the LAST CHANCE to turn in forms and physicals to Coach Jordan. If your form is not turned in by the end of first period, you will not be allowed to participate in tryouts. Tryouts will begin tomorrow in the new gym at 5:00 p.m.  


Today’s super big shout out goes to the 2017 Homecoming Prince Ethan Caldwell and Homecoming King Dimaujae Kinchen, and a super big congratulations to Homecoming Princess Emily Justice and Homecoming Queen Karolyn Sales.

Our second big shout out goes to Ms. Alli Eidson, Ms. Kim Cowart, Ms. Marla Williams, Ms. Nancy Dixon, Ms. Sandy Duffey, and everyone else who helped make this year’s homecoming week and celebration the best in Central High School history!


The fall chorus concert will take place Tuesday, October 10 at the Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free, so please come support our chorus program!

Attention 10th grade and Dr. Simpson’s advisement groups. Sophomore will meet Thursday for advisement in the cafeteria. Dr. Simpson’s advisement group will meet in the Media Center.

Attention students: Central High School will be offering an SAT prep class beginning next week. Tuesday and Thursday, 7:25 a.m., math study, in Ms. Cole's room 408, and Wednesday, 3:40 p.m., vocab study, in Mrs. Trumble's room 633.


Sophomores will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11 in the old gym starting at the beginning of 1st period. Students will report directly to the gym that morning. Students can see seating locations by checking the rosters posted around campus. Seating is based on your last name. Juniors who signed up to take the PSAT will report to the TLC 1st period.

Get Up and Move Central- Students if  you are serious about your health and would like some nutrition advice, an exercise coach and a motivational partner to help you make a lifestyle change come join us for our 5 week program. The program will start the week of October 16 and continue until Thanksgiving Break. We will have six (6) spots available per session. The second session will begin after Christmas break. Please stop by and see Mrs. Duffey in the Main Office to sign up.

Students, picture retakes are Tuesday, October 10, from 8:00-11:30. Students who were absent will have an appointment time; you will receive an appointment card by this Friday. Students who are unhappy with their pictures from the first picture day can sign up for an appointment in room 626. If you purchased your pictures, you must bring your original package with you in order to have retakes. Faculty members who missed the first picture day should have their pictures taken at 8:00 a.m.

Now is the time to pay prom dues.  Juniors, dues are $100 and will increase October 12.  You may pay Ms. Eady, Mrs. Wooten, or Mrs. Trumble.

Tomorrow picture retakes take place on the 600 hall. It’s a great day to be a Central Lion!
